Course Curriculum Overview :
Unlike most B.Sc courses in the country, the B.Sc Agriculture course at Dr Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth is a 4 year course. The course is intense and teaches a variety of topics ranging from soil management to food production.
Placement Experience :
Our college provides a plethora of internships every year to its students. The only thing you have to take care of is your marksheet- the better your grades, the better your chance of bagging the good internships.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The tuition fee for the college is quite affordable. For the B.Sc Agriculture course, the fee structure is divided as such: Year 1: Rs 24,850 Year 2: Rs 16,800 Year 3: Rs 16,800 Year 4: Rs 16,800 Thus the total comes to Rs 75,250.
Campus Life :
College always gives us enough freedom when it comes to co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Of the sporting events that take place, the kho kho and volleyball events are my favourite! We also have art, craft and dance competitions.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facilities are quite good. The hostel is relatively new and is spic and span. Each hostel room is shared by 3 or 4 students and the rooms are also furnished with a cupboard and a table chair set.
Admission :
Most of the seats in the institute are reserved for students with Maharashtra domicile. You have to pass your 10+2 exams under the Maharashtra State Board to be eligible. On the basis of the marks submitted, a merit list will be drawn up.
Faculty :
It is very difficult to find faculty who can create and sustain interest among students for the subjects of soil and water management. But, this is where I got very lucky, because our teachers are extremely knowledgeable and not one second in class is boring!
