Course Curriculum Overview :
I studied the diploma course called Graduate Colored Stones. The subject mainly focuses on the rare gems and their identification in the market. As I have the jeweller background, I really needed this quality to run my family business. The course also let us know about using the gemological equipment to identify the different kinds of gems.

The college conducts the Placement Camps every year for the students to connect with the large jewellers in the country to gain the experience and to know about the job opportunities in the field. As I already have a family business to look after, I just participated in the camp to know well about the future jobs in the field and the hiring requirements for every job in the jewellery industry.

The fee for my course was Rs.5,78,700/-. It was quite expensive for the course but worth to take a shot as it provides you with every bit of knowledge on gems. It was feasible to pay as an initial payment Rs. 20,000/- had to pay along with the application submission. Also, I paid the full amount of the fee only ten days before the commencement of the program.

GIA laboratory is one of the finest and trusted labs in the industry for gem testing as it has the modern equipment for the testing.
Admission :
My family owns a jewelry business. Naturally, I was expected to have my education based on the same field. I chose the Gemological Institute of America. I was expected to complete my higher education (12th grade) in any board. I found the link on their website for the application. I filled out the form and sent the necessary payment along with the application to their place in Surat. With all the requirements faced and got it right, I was admitted to the college.
Faculty :
I had an absolutely perfect set of educators to teach us the identification process. Their faculty had expertise in gemology. Their expertise in the field helped me a lot from the basics like how a gem is mined, processed and finally brought into the market for the sale.
