Remarks :
Really good place to have post graduation. Good placement rates good exposure.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Yes. Plays a very important role in moulding myself. Being an orthopaedic resident, hands on is very important. The faculties here give huge hands on training in operation theatres as well as wards and they take regular ward classes which helps us to improve our clinical accumen.
Placement Experience :
Being a medical college, placements are always excellent with great packages. I wouldn't suggest those in medical profession to trust this institution as this is the oldest medical college in asia.
College Events :
My college holds an annual cultural meet known as rhapsody. Here all sorts of co curricular and extra curricular activities are held. Students from different discipline come and participate. This takes place in college auditorium which is equally large and spacious.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fees is 1000/month. But we do get stipend ranging from 40k to 60k. So paying fees has never been an issue. Here the entire admission process is through central and state allotment process and is done online so I suppose this process is really transparent.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I didn't apply for any scholarships as the fees here is comparatively low and we do get stipends so paying fees is not an issue.
Campus Life :
Being an orthopaedic surgeon I have hardly encountered female counterpart so I must say gender ratio is poor. We have a lot of extra curricular competition which is held in annual festival of my college and it is called rhapsody. Lot of seminars, workshops are held on a regular basis.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes. Good and strong alumni association. Really helpful in need. Especially during covid times they have supported a lot.
Admission :
Transparent. I got admission through NEET pg which is a national examination for post graduate aspirants. Its a really transparent process but a difficult exams. One we clear the exam there is an online allotment process and we get allotted to college of our choice based on pure merit.
Faculty :
Faculty members are really good and helpful. Being an orthopaedic resident, hands on is very important. The faculties here give huge hands on training in operation theatres as well as wards and they take regular ward classes which helps us to improve our clinical accumen.
