Entrance Preview :
I had to go through PGCET exam held by Karnataka Govt. to secure a govt. quota seat with my rank being 7755. I opted for this college because it ranks 6th in whole Karnataka and have good placement opportunities.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Since the college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, course curriculum is decided by VTU itself. And in all the semesters we had two electives to choose from. Students will have to vote for electives.
Internships Opportunities :
Many companies were present to offer internship like Accenture, HP, AT&T, Nokia, Infosys, Brocade and many others. Stipend varies from 4000 to 30000 and duration of internship depends on the company. Selection criteria varies from one to other company.
Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are pretty good for bachelors but the same sinks down for Masters's students. Nokia 600000, Infosys 325000, HP 330000, Cap Gemini 540000.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
As I got seat under govt. quota fee structure was feasible. I paid 65000 to university and 23000 to college including exam fees, total fees would amount to around 2 lakhs for my M.Tech. Management quota is expensive over here which is around 4 lakhs.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
All scholarships and loan facilities provided by government is made available to college students. Separate department is in place for loans and scholarship purpose and will be at your disposal throughout the year.
Alumni/Alumna :
I didn't get much chance to meet my seniors or interact with them. First semester gets finished off in knowing your classmates, while during our second semester seniors wouldn't be available in college as they were in real world for internships and project work.
Exam Structure :
Its a hectic day in ISE Department of RNSIT. Other departments are bit lenient relatively. Exams are held as per VTU Time table which accounts for 100 marks in externals and 25 marks in internals averaged through 3 internal tests.
Faculty :
Though you shouldn't expect some great teaching in here, faculty are up to the mark. Some professors are at their best you can even get like Dr. H.N. Shivashankar Sir(Director) and some others.
