Remarks :
Maulana Azad Medical College is one of the best medical colleges in India. It is located in the centre of Delhi, near Connaught Place, making it a favourable location. It's fees is very nominal. It boasts of some of the best professors and clinical experiences. LNJP, which is one of the hospitals associated with MAMC has a high patient load. Currently, it is also a designated Corona hospital. Thus there is adequate exposure to patients.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course of medical college is very vast. Our teachers may it easier for us by use of PowerPoint presentations in every lecture. Frequent testing helps in retention of information. Clinical exposure in hospital occurs from 2nd year onwards for 3 hours every day, and 6 hours every day in 3rd and 4th years. Interns have hospital duty all day, including night shifts. The hospital is available to access even after allocated study hours for greater learning. Interaction with patients is encouraged by all teachers. 1st year - Group presentations are given in class by students in physiology. In the dissection hall (anatomy), small groups of 25 people are made. Skeleton models, dissection of dead body, and organ learning are done in these groups.
Placement Experience :
An MBBS student has to give an exam called NEET PG, now NEXT, to obtain a seat for MD/MS, I.e. PG. MAMC teaches subjects well, thus making it easier to prepare for the exams. Also the seniors are very helpful and give excellent guidance.
College Events :
Many societies are a part of MAMC, viz, Dance, Music, Sports, Arts, Drama, Photography etc. Two fests, one intracollege, GOONJ, and one inter college, SYNAPSE, is hosted by MAMC. 5 day long fests attracting a huge number of participants across colleges.
Campus Life :
Well equipped central library catering to needs of medical students and professors alike. Two floored library. Fully furnished labs and dissection hall. Boys hostel has indoor badminton court, volleyball court, basketball court, TT table Girls hostel has badminton court and basketball court.
