Remarks :

Shivaji College is excellent in terms of each and every aspect. The education they provide through their highly educated teachers is such a guiding force for the students that if they attend all lectures with sincerity and concentration, there is no need for self study. The campus is beautifully designed with many unique sitting areas for students and teachers amidst fresh air and many gigantic trees . Sitting at those areas can relieve the students off their stress and make them breathe freshness . The student grievance cell is highly active though i dont think a student can ever have a grievance in this college. Shivaji College has a great system for maintaining attendance of students whereby they send messages and even post letters to the house of students who are falling short of attendance before examinations so that the students can attend lectures seriously and not miss their examination. The college has two Canteens. One is a little BRU canteen area in open where we can refresh ourselves amidst greenery and the other big canteen is oh so big. It can easily accommodate more than 100 students and provides many tasty food items for students. And the best part is that they are budget friendly and also very healthy. The college also has a beautiful botanical garden . And how can i not mention about the amazing fests which women development cell organizes since they always have very interesting and unique themes for fests and invite famous personalities such as Smriti Irani , Dangal movie team ( parents of Geeta and Babita Phogat ) and many more celebrities. Annual fest is surely not to be missed .

Course Curriculum Overview :

The syllabus was designed keeping in mind the current requirements. The syllabus was updated according to present need of the hour. The English faculty had the best teachers a college can ever appoint. All the teachers had doctorate degree. Their way of delivering lectures is commendable. They simplied the syllabus and then taught us , which made it really easy for students to grasp. The teachers were encyclopedias, perfecting us always on how to write nicely and expanding our horizon of world literature .

Placement Experience :

Many distinguished companies visit the college for providing jobs and internships. Infact , the placement cell is active enough in organising many placement drives where many good companies come and offer students various proposals. For technical courses and commerce courses , many companies visit but for literature course like B.A ( Hons.) English , hardly any company visited in the three years which i spent there.

College Events :

The campus life at Shivaji College is quite fun filled and interesting. It hosts many festivals . The most interesting ones are organized by women development cells and annual fest of the college. They are well managed , keeping in mind the security of students unlike other colleges. Also , it holds special little functions for all festivals such as a diwali fate , lohri celebration where teachers and students enjoy the bonn fire and dance together, and for many more festivals.

Campus Life :

The campus is very spacious and designed keeping in mind the requirements of teachers and students. It is full of beautiful trees and plants and flowers. It has two canteens. Three storied library with a huge sitting capacity and of course many many books from all over the world covering all the necessary subjects. The classrooms are big enough to accommodate adequate students with a podium and white board and projector.

Placement Experience:

The Placement Cell of the college is very active. Students can avail themselves of the placement opportunities from the fifth semester. I have been selected as a content writer in the fifth semester. I was offered a 4.6 LPA in the esteemed company. More than 40 percent of students end up doing getting jobs. I have decided to earn some experience as a content writer and then apply for the MA journalism program.

Placement Experience:

For the courses like Architecture, Engineering, Law, Mass Communication, many big companies come for placements in Jamia. As my course is a Bachelors's subject under Arts, there aren't many placement opportunities. But I hope to pursue my Master in History after which I would try to get placed.

Placement Experience:

The placements for BA Program in particular are slightly lower as compared to other courses. Most students from the course opt for higher studies but the few who choose to sit for placements find it hard to land a job. Campus placements start in 5th semester and continue for the entire final year. A student is free to sit for as many companies as they like, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria like CGPA, course, etc. Most companies hire a maximum of 4 students owing to the small population of students at St. Stephen's. The highest package in 2021 was 18LPA and the average package is about 6 LPA-8 LPA.

Placement Experience:

Around 70% of the students get good campus placements, especially in the private sector. The average package for the students is 6,000,00 per annum. The highest package offered to the student varies between 25 lakhs to 35 lakhs. My plans are different as I want to pursue my higher education.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is good. It has tie ups with reputed news channels. But in our course, the college does not provide internships, students have do it themselves and they have to prepare their own youtube channel for work.

Remarks:

The management is an equally hardworking and efficient team like the faculties. They maintain a good relationship with the students as well as with the teachers and are approachable for both the parties. Their functioning has ensured that the college runs smoothly in terms of presenting itself to others.
