Remarks :

Islamia College of science and commerce is one of the best institutions of the valley. I have enjoyed a lot there. A discipline oriented institute. No caste, creed, color, etc. I will give 9 out of 10. I suggest people to take admission in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Islamia College of science and commerce is governed by University of Kashmir, Hazratbal Srinagar. The curriculum is best and the learning module is very fair. The professors and lecturers are very knowledgeable and kind. I have learnt a lot from this institution.

Class Size : 30Course Fees : INR 7000 per year

Placement Experience :

At that time, placement cell of college was almost defuct. They just suggested some corporate sector and industries where one have to go and apply for the job. But the thing was that many companies have not vacancies that time. I think placement and training cell must be enhanced.

College Events :

We have celebrated many events like Teachers day, Earth day, Sport events, cross countries, cycle racing, etc. Varios cultural events took place in our time. I used to partition in such events. I used to perform there. It was really fun. I enjoyed a lot there.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It's very feasible and reasonable. I don't remember exactly but the average fee costs around 20,000. Fee can be deployed by cash or transfer. Absolutely, the fee structure was totally transparent and fair. No additional charges were there. Very reasonable and fair.

Yeah, the seniors were good enough. We used to play cricket with them. They were helpful. And the environment was very friendly.

Admission :

I opted this stream because of my own interest. I was interested in banking and commerce sector. There are many colleges in my vicinity but i took admission is Islamia College og science and commerce. This College is just 1 km away from my residence n that's the reason i have opted this College. We have taken a provisional admission and then appeared in the entrance exams.

Faculty :

As i mentioned above, the professors and lecturers were too good. They were knowledgeable, experienced, helpful and kind to the students. We had 4 to 5 lectures in a day. Regular mock tests were taken to keep the students on the proper track. I will give 9 out 10.

Actually i was interested in business from starting only. I wanted to do BBA but unfortunately i didnt have good marks in class 12th . So i couldn't get admission in BBA. Bcom was my second preference. So had to do that.

MY COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'll rate it 7/10. My course has 7 subjects in total among those 3 are my course related 2 are language and 2 are totally irrelevant. I don't know why i am studying computer science as a commerce student. Why i chose this is because i wanted to a degree is commerce. Well my relevant subjects teach me business. I want to start a business of my own so they are gonna help a lot. By subjects like accounting i can maintain record very well. Management subject teaches how to manage things efficiently. Well to improve the course remove irrelevant subjects. This will make course easier and willing to opt. Teaching can be improved if teachers focus on like making students learn about the things well that will impact there practical life rather than just teaching to complete syllabus. Teachers should focus on development of student not "is our syllabus complete??" Well each year has two semesters and one semester is 6 months at the end of which they have to take exams.

SPMR COLLEGE OF COMMERCE JAMMU - A BRIEF REVIEW

Course Curriculum Overview:

Under UGC B.COM, the subjects like Accounting influenced me to choose this course as I am interested to learn the subject and even the curriculum is good enough to help in learning. The curriculum is also designed in a way to apply the things learned in the course in professional life but not in real life. According to me, the course is well designed except some subjects that have been put in the course such as Hindi, EVS etc. which may not be useful in professional life of student The exams are conducted well before the time. The semester duration is of 6 months. But they take semester end exams within 4 months. The difficulty level is easy to moderate.

college is excellent. To encourage fitness and firm health, the university organises yoga camps at different hill stations surrounded by the lush green environment with a good climate. It also provides residential facilities to students, teaching faculty and non- teaching faculty as well.

Entrance Preview:

I took the CAT and successfully qualified the text. I was motivated to take B.Com due to my interest in the enterprise world and my passion working in the commerce industry.

Placement Experience:

Talking about the placement front, the college has a dedicated placement cell and each year a score of students get placed in various companies like HDFC, HCL, IBM, etc. During my course a total of 15 companies visited the campus for placement and about 20 students were placed, 5 of them in HDFC and Reliance Mutual.
