Remarks :
College campus is very large. You will get gym, tennis courts, basketball court, cricket Field and various other indoor games, as campus is very big it is more than 1 km from hostel to class.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Basically in nit surat you are offered 6 stream (computer engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, electrical engineering and chemical engineering) so as per your interst and most importantly jee rank you can opt for one. You can do b.tech, m.tech and phd in any of above mentioned stream. In phd there are various research and development are going on which you can see on official website of nit surat. You can learn lots of things in institution with well educated professors and by constructively using hostel wi-fi.
Placement Experience :
Placement of our college is good as it is national levele institute. Approximately 80 percent student got placed with average package of 7 lpa. For internships, when students start there 3rd yeraas various companies visit our campus and takes various rounds like gd, onlone test and finally interview and then selection is done they also give stipend and if your performance is good you will also be offered ppo from company. And for hiring also procedure is same as mentioned above.
College Events :
1. Sparsh - this is biggest techno cultural fest we have in college where every year in February or march a big celebrity will come last year it was neha kakkar apart from that we have singing night and dancing night. Various bike stunt and cycle stunt are performed by professionals. 2. Kashish- it is for 1st year student only for choosing mr and mrs Freshers hete also we have singing and dancing noghts. And there are various other events like mmnct for cricket, chrd to show your singing,dancing and painting skills
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Basically the annual tuition fee of college is 1,25,000 which you have to pay in two parts in the beginning of each semester. Arst from that you have to pay convocation fee which is 3000 every year. And if you have opted for hostel then additional 55,000 per year which i think is feasible for middle class.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes i have opted for scholarship, as i belong to sc category, there is a central scheme "top class sc student" inder which student get approx 30000 every year and one time laptop of 45000
Campus Life :
Campus life is great. Not just sit and relax in hostel room but explore campus, participate as mush as possible in events which will boost your confidence and also help in resume building, you can play different types of indoor and outdoor games(carrom, chess, table tennis, cricket, football,tennis, basketball)
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, i have opted for hostel, in first and second year you will have to share room only 2 person in a room you will be provided 1 bed, 1 cupboard, 1 table and 1 chair, every year you have to shift to new building. In 3rd and final year single room is provided to each student. Washroom is commmon not individual
Alumni/Alumna :
Definitely they are helpful, you can connect with them via social media, and also there is alumni cell which calls various alumni in college who interact with student and also give various success rules.
Admission :
I opted for bachelor of technology, computer engineering because i was always curious about softwares and how games are made, how coding is done, i was also interested in puzzles and brainstorm quizzes. When i cleared jee mains exam but not able to crack jee advance then i began to search good nit colleges according to mhrd ranking and also best private colleges loke bit meshra and all, in 2016 nit sut was in 2nd list among nit and then i opted for this college.
Faculty :
Generally there are 4 lecture in morning from 8:30 to 12:30 each lecture is of 50 mins and you will get 10 min interval between two lecture and then from 12:30 to 2 pm break for lunch then from 2 pm to 4 pm we have lab. Average age for b.tech 1st year is 18 years. And you can only go to college after completing intermediate. Yes most of the lectures hold relevant industry-exprience.
