Remarks :
Overall I would say it is a decent college for one who wants to study in Pune and a no brainer for someone who wants to pursue Chemical Engineering. Being autonomous the college provides platform for student to grow in his interested field. If there is any drawback it is only due to the location of college which is a bit far from the central city. It takes 25-30 mins to reach the city, otherwise it is a decent college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Recently the College has attained Autonomous status. The curriculum is industry driven and remains fairly relevant in the current industrial scenario. There is a trimester system and many MOU's are signed for student exchange program. Project work is given focus to make the student industry ready.
Placement Experience :
The placement of IT/COMP in general is very good and a decent student can get an average package of around 3. 5-4 LPA. Core branches like Mech/Chemical/Civil have seen an increase in placement over the years in diverse roles like Data Analytics, Supply Chain, Sales & even R&D in core companies. The average salary of the college stands at around 4LPA with the highest package around 15 LPA.
College Events :
There are many clubs for arts, photography, entrepreneurship, technical which are active for the entire year. The technical events are held twice in a year and the annual event is "Nakshatra" which remains the biggest celebrated student festival every year. The college hosts interdepartmental sports every year and there is cut throught competition between all departments.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is around 2 lakhs/year for a general category student. Additionally you have to pay 1 lakh if you need a room in the college hostel. College accepts payment through Cash/Cheque. Other academical expenses will include exam fees and library fees.
Fees and Financial Aid :
I didn't avail for any scholarship or education loan. College does help in guiding students to avail an education loan. There is no such scholarship provided by the institution until now.
Campus Life :
As seen in every indian college the male students are more than females. Since the college is situated away from central pune, the surroundings are less congested and peaceful. One may take time to adjust to the mess food and local conditions but otherwise the campus is lush green and serene. There are few student clashes due to difference of opinion but it never gets out of control.
Hostel Facilities :
The best thing about our college is the hostel. The hostel rooms are spacious with rooms on double sharing. There is 24×7 supply of electricity and water. Hostel has its own annual events and celebrations. Every room has its individual washroom and every student will be provided with cupboard, bed, chair and internet connectivity. The hostel fees is around 1 Lakh/year but it is worth staying in this hostel.
Alumni/Alumna :
Alumni network has been increasingly getting active in the recent years and take care of helping outgoing students in proper guidance. We have a alumni committee which meet every year.
Admission :
I got admission through National Entrance Exam i. e IIT-JEE. You can also get through MHT-CET also. Both exams are held in the month of March-April. I opted for Chemical Engg as I had interest in the field of production & process. My college also stands in the top 10 for Chemical Engg course.
Faculty :
I would rate the faculty from above average to good. But with the autonomy, faculty along with students churn continuously to remain relevant with knowledge of technologies and industry requitements. Many innovative teaching techniques are being deviced to keep the interest of a student.
