One of Best College for Economics

Remarks :

I completed my M.Sc Economics from SAMSoE. Teachers were quite generous and the seniors were also quite supportive to me. Teachers provided guidance also to students apart from academics. I liked the college alot, the events and workshops made the college life quite fun for me.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is drafted by NMIMS, Mumbai as it provides SAMSoE with affiliation. The syllabus contains basic subjects like financial economics, development economics, Indian economy and many more to strengthen the basics. Apart from the subjects, a research paper is mandatory to be produced by the students on their respective interests. The course duration is quite hectic, and examinations are held at the end of each semester.

Placement Experience :

The college placements are good, though there are multiple job opportunities outside the campus too. Many companies like Kotak, Wipro, Barclays, HDFC and many more visit the campus every year. The maximum salary package offered was 10 lakhs per annum and the average salary package offered was 4 lakh per annum.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee for my M.Sc economics was around 2lakh per annum, which was a little expensive. The total fee for my whole course duration ranged between 3-4lakhs. The fee is expensive, as the college solely focuses particularly on the field of economics to specialise students in it.

Campus Life :

The college holds different events, seminars and celebrations around the year for the enjoyment of students, and provide them with a more positive environment. The college has good labs and well-equipped libraries which is updated timely as per changing time, so students can have proper study material for their whole course duration.

Hostel Facilities :

The college has good hostel facilities. Hostels are available for both boys and girls. The hostel rooms are quite comfortable and spacious. The food served in the hostel is also healthy. There are strict rules in the college hostel to provide better security to students.

Admission :

The admission to college is provided through the counselling from NMIMS NPAT. After successfully getting a seat in SAMSoE through NPAT counselling, the students are required to go through a small interview. After the interview, a merit list is generated containing the name of students who are eligible for admission here. Luckily, I got my name in merit list after I went through the whole process and successfully got admission here for pursuing my M.Sc Economics. A minimum of 60% aggregate is required to take admission in the college.

Faculty :

The faculty is quite experienced and qualified. The teachers are quite good at teaching the hardest of the topics with ease to students. We enjoyed alot in some classes, as teachers taught it to us in a very interesting and interactive way.

over all this college looks very small but the facilities provided by them are at International level. A student from for example in mumbai University would not be able to provide international facilities. even a masters first year student here can perform electrophoresis and also visit reputed institutes.
