Remarks :

The management of the college is without a doubt the best. The actions on any issue are taken almost immediately

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is quite relevant and yes it is research driven and fair as there are no reservations. It has helped me become a better professional as there are students from every corner of the world studying here and it's equipped with latest machines and diagnostic aids which can't be found anywhere else in the country.

Placement Experience :

There is no placement system in dental colleges. Students can however apply for being a tutor in the same college after finishing the internship.

College Events :

We celebrate a cultural festival in the month of March every year which we call HUES. where we see array of cultural talents within the college. Another fest that happens is DENTATHALON which is the sports fest of the college where there are inter batch competition in various sports.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It is more on the expensive side. We pay around five lakhs and sixteen thousand every year which keeps increasing each year. This is just the tution fee. We all pay some fifty thousand to two lakh rupee for the hostel facility depending upon the type of room we're opting for

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

College does offer scholarships for students but I do not know much about it and hence have not opted for the same

Campus Life :

The campus life is quite lively as it's not just a college, it is a university where students from different streams live and study together. Students belonging to different countries also study here by which we get a better insight to different streams and cultures around us.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes. I live in sharda hostel in the manipal university campus. The facilities in the hostel are remarkable including water coolers 24*7 wifi facility and security. I have opted for a single room in this hostel.

Alumni/Alumna :

People and alumni of the college are helpful depending upon whom we are contacting. They are mostly helpful.

Admission :

Admission happens via an entrance exam NEET which happens every year around first week of may. Students after 12th can give this exam who have scored >50% marks and have opted for science bio as subjects. I opted for this course as I had a keen interest in dynamics of human body.

Faculty :

Faculties are basically successful practicing dentists who are quite experienced and knowledgeable. We always look up to them. They have been practicing in this field since atleast past 10-15 years (most of them) and hence provide us a great platform to learn from them and the crucial cases that they have done.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's a noble profession as we are directly treating patients. The teaching module is greatly designed and allows us to work on ourselves and focus on the betterment of ourselves. Sometimes it becomes a little hectic as the course is really vast.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspects of the curriculum that mainly influenced my decision to choose this course are the equal ratio of theoretical as well as practical training, and we get early clinical exposure when compared with other medical degrees. Through clinical rotations in various departments, students gain experience in diagnosing, scaling procedures, extractions, and restorations. But advanced procedures like lasers, implants, clear aligners, etc are out of the reach of the students. Another good thing is the enhancement of soft skills like communication, patient management, and ethical practise, these are very important for maintaining patient trust. Areas of improvement are management should incorporate more advanced digital dentistry tools and technologies in the curriculum. This could prepare the students for constantly evolving dentistry. The college conducts 3 internal theoretical as well as practical exams before the main University exam.

The syllabus has included compulsory clinical practicals from 3rd year. The OP flow and vast exposure you'll get to have in Oral surgery, conservative dentistry, Prosthodontics, and Oral medicine make AB Shetty one of the most sought-after dental college in india. Teachers are very guiding in clinical, which is what prepares you to be a doctor with apt and profound clinical knowledge and a sense of diagnosis. College is conducting terminal sessions of exams followed by university examinations by the end of the academic year.

Many hospitals across India and foreign countries come here for recruiting trainee doctors for their hospitals. Job fairs are also conducted every year keeping in mind the students welfare. The package depends on the quality of the students.
