Remarks :

It was a nice journey with Bhavan's. Bhavan's took care of our education. I only have one regret that I miss the campus job interview and the internship program which Bhavan's did not arranged at our time.

Entrance Preview :

There was an internal entrance entrance exam for those who applied for the course. The entrance exam consisted a written and an personal interview session both were comfortable.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I opted for Advance course in Mass Communication & Journalism (PG Diploma). It consisted of 6 papers (written) and at the end single assignment on own choice of topic. It was a nine months course.'Advance course' provided experience of making of an documentary (shooting & post-production etc) under faculty guidance. Otherwise, there option to choose the course without 'advance' too. It was a great experience.

Internships Opportunities :

For our batch, we did not get chance to work as a intern in any company. Later, I looked myself for Kolkata TV News channel for internship. Heard that the next batch did intern in Star Jalsha. They also got stipend.

Placement Experience :

Campus Job interview was not available in Bhavan's. You have to look for your own way after you complete your course. But now i work for an advertising agency.

College Events :

We celebrated college event at Jadavpur University's indoor hall seniors, batch-mates and students from the other branch also joined the cultural program. It was amazing to perform on stage. After completing the course, there was a convocation took place at the same hall. It an invitation from college to attend the function and take the certificate from the principal.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The course was much feasible. I paid about 30,000 bucks only for the course, and that too in two installments. Payments were made through Demand Draft only from any scheduled bank. Also there were additional expenses of about Rs.3,000 for course related purchases & contribution for events held.

Fees and Financial Aid :

No such facility offered by the college there was a free basic computer course program organised by the college authority for 3days/week for one month many of the students opt for that.

Campus Life :

It was fantastic there was huge ground with basket ball court, badminton court, beautiful garden and vast library got opportunity to take part in annual cultural event and to perform before a nice crowd. There was also a little book fair in the campus we all enjoyed our "Bhavan's" days a lot.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facility was not available there was a canteen in the campus from where we used to eat chowmein, parantha-alu dum, sandwich, bread toast etc was not bad food was not too costly.

Alumni/Alumna :

Senior students were helpful we met on our annual day, we talked, we performed, we made fun together most of them got decent jobs or went outstation nowadays.

Exam Structure :

At first, there was an internal entrance exam then, the finals that's it each paper was of 100 marks there was subjective & objective questions and it was not that tough.

Faculty :

Faculties were experienced & established persons from related fields. Each of them are ocean of knowledge. They were friendly and helped a lot in the course. They taught us in detail and in simple language and relatable manner. They gained our respect.Sir guided us like his own children on the making of documentary.

Placement Experience:

We were a post COVID batch. So placement was quite slow. Our placements started from 3rd semester itself but salaries weren't good as the COVID effect was still there. But still we received placement assistance even after our classes got over and that's how I got my placement. It was more than 90% in my batch and I worked for 2 years after getting placed.
