Remarks :
Good environment but faculty can be improved. And more practical’s can be included rather than theoretical lectures which aren’t much helpful when we are studying IT as most of it is on computer and not on paper.
Course Curriculum Overview :
It follows the Mumbai University Curriculum. IT course was a combination of many programming languages and some hardware related subjects. Each semester had 6 subjects till sem 4 which reduced to 5 in sem 7 and 8.
Placement Experience :
Senior staff of Information Technology is really good. Junior staff is less experienced and hence it becomes an obstacle for learning. Practical’s aren’t that fruitful as some faculty members are not able to clear all doubts. But overall I’ll give a good rating in terms of enthusiasm and discipline.
College Events :
The Technical fest is called Nucleus and the cultural fest is called Pratishtha. From the last 3-4 years the fest has been celebrated on a very large scale. R1 car racing is also a part of the fest in which people from all over India come to participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It’s feasible compared to many other colleges in Mumbai. Gymkhana library and many other facilities fees are included in it. Gym fees are also included. The increase in fees from 1st to 4th year was nominal.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
As it is a Gujarati Minority college it has less fees for those who belong to this community There are no scholarships as such but you can apply for scholarships in trusts but the college as such doesn’t have any scholarship program
Campus Life :
Extra curricular activities are quite good as there’s drama team and singing team and many other such teams and clubs. And people of different ethnicity and race and religion hangout together so it’s very safe
Hostel Facilities :
There’s no hostel facility as most of the students are from Mumbai itself. So anyone coming from far place has to make his or her own arrangements of flat travelling and PG. This is one factor which they can improve
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes alumni network is very strong and many of the alumni’s have settled abroad and are very helpful. Most of them are working for some top notch MNCs and they come to college when invited and guide their fellow juniors.
Admission :
I had given JEE Mains thourough which I received admission in this college. I scored an 87 percentile which is a combination of 12th Boards marks and JEE Mains score. We had to fill a form listing our preferred colleges and according to our scores we were allotted colleges in thouree different lists
Faculty :
IT faculty is good and according to what I’ve heard from my friends of other branches even their faculty is good. But some faculty members lack experience and hence theory lectures tend to be boring. Though they can improve by inducting more experienced teachers
