Remarks :
Our college had some cases of ragging earlier but I can assure you that it has been completely eradicated and its a ragging free campus now the juniors and seniors share equal space and also the seniors help the juniors in their studies too.
Entrance Preview :
I had appeared for WBJEE and scored 22572 rank in general category.I opted for electronics and communication engineering because i always fancy about antennas, radars, how those dish like antennas works as I watch those huge antennas in Betar Bhawan in kolkata, beside EDEN Gardens stadium further the mobiles were just started at that time, at which my curiosity reached further,so I opted for that stream.
Internships Opportunities :
My internship experience was very good,lot of things learned apart from our theoretical bookish knowledge.I had done internship in All India Radio Bhawan in kolkata, which costs only 3k, also on BSNL which costs 7500, in WEBEL costs 4500 and also done some soft skills in IT companies that visited our campus.
Placement Experience :
There were many IT companies visited our campus, such as Jindal BPS, Wipro, J & K Technosoft, & many others where most of the computer sc, IT students were placed & from our stream 24 got placed & telecommunication comapnies such as Unitel & Krittika Communication also visited in which 53 of my stream got placed furthermore many off campuses were held in which reputed companies like TCS, CTS, Capegemi, Accenture, etc also recruited some of my friends.
College Events :
There were mainly 2 college festivals held every year the Freshers Welcome where the freshers were welcomed by their seniors and the festival is done on one day. Then comes the college Fest, which happened in 4 consecutive days where in the first day some offerings and helpings were given to the poor and simultaneously blood donation camp were held in that day 2nd day is reserved for the tech fest, where technological advancements were showcased by us in the 3rd and 4th day was reserved for band performance of two bands alongwith the meals in the college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Our hostel campus has a bank within the campus, bank of India so loans are available from the banks as already told it was aided by the govt it has all govt scholarships available i.e for the SC/ST & minorities as given by the governments further it also under TEQUIP, so our college also gives financial assistance to the financially backward students.
Campus Life :
There is indifference in gender inequality specially in our department we share the gender strength also same there were various sports events held in our college prior to the College Fests, such as cricket, kabbadi, football, volley, etc many quizes also held in our college and debates also took place on various events that was the topic of discussion.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel was average with large spacious rooms but the conditions were below average i would rate them 6 out of 10 hostel foods were great on some days and were average on the other so that deserves 6 out 10 also as our college was govt aided so we have 27500 as tution fees+3750 as hostel fees.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni network were less significant and doesn't help the students at all the senior students helped the juniors a lot they tell us where to apply and how and if there is any vacancy available in their respective company they use their referrals for the juniors.
Faculty :
Our faculty was great specially 2-3 sirs who were just brilliant,not only they have great theoretical knowledge but also have vast practical knowledge. They used to teach as per the student standards or grasp of knowledge,i.e,if a student doesn't understand those difficult terms they teach with so easy way that all standards of students could get the knowledge. But apart from them others were not up to the mark.The lab faculty were good and very helpful too. They also had great knowledge on the instruments we used to work on.
