Remarks :

Positive remarks are great infrastructure, best faculties and training facilities, apart from academics focus is also given on extra curricular activities, excellent placement records. Negative remarks are I have heard from my friend staying in hostel that hostel food is not good and Environment surrounding the college is also not that clean.

Course Curriculum Overview :

According to me course curriculum is quite good and comfortable. Our college is autonomy now so syllabus has slightly changed. Now the courses are more refined and designed according to student convinience. Also the exam structure is pretty good. There are two unit tests apart from the semester exam in every semester.

Placement Experience :

The placements and job opportunities are excellent. Every year around 70-80 companies visit our college to recruit the students. Some of the companies that visit our college include Capgemini, Mindtree, IBS software, ITC Infotech, Hexaware, Mphasis, CTS etc. Talking about interships, our college doesn't provide intership opportunities you have to find it by your own.

College Events :

There are no. of events celebrated in our college which include cultural fest, Tesseract, freshers program, quiz and debate competition and many more. Apart from this college also hosts no. of sports events.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure of our college is just like any other engineering colleges. You have to pay around 4. 5 lakhs for 4 years only as semester fee. Hostel fee are to be added separately. You have to pay ?600 more in every semester. Overall the fee is little on the higher side.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As far as I know our college doesn't provide any loan/ scholarship facility however you get concession in your fee if you are a single girl child. Also if your are from Sikh or Muslim minority you get concession in your fee.

Campus Life :

The labs are quite clean with updated equipments. The labs are pretty well maintained also. Talking about sports, you get to play any sports you want to like cricket, football, carrom board, table tennis, volleyball etc.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network and senior students are very good. They are quite friendly and ready to help you in whatever way they can. They treat their juniors as their younger brothers. Also you will hardly face any kind of ragging from their side.

Admission :

I got admission in this college through AMPAI rank. Basically AMPAI is an exam conducted by JIS group to get admission in the colleges that are under them. I filled up the form for AMPAI exam online and then gave the exam on scheduled date. I secured around 700 rank in the exam after which I was called for councelling. I went to the councelling and got my all the documents verified after which they gave me a slip. I visited Guru Nanak Institute Of Technology with all the documents and that slip and finally got the admission.

Faculty :

This is one of the area where our college is excellent. The faculties of our college are very good. They are ready to help you anytime anywhere. Also apart from the knowledge in their subjects they also have knowledge regarding others subjects. They are also very friendly and you can approach them without any fear.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

From seventh semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are like TCS, Cognizant, infosys, mindtree and many others. The avg pkg is 6 lpa and highest is 12 lpa. 90 percent students gets placed.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

The college is very good in every aspect. There is nothing that can be said bad about it. The teachers are supportive. The education is quite good. The placements are quite good. Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
