Remarks :
Well only one thing that can be called as a constructive criticism is the stringent rule for attendance, due to which I was not able to apply for internships at IITs. I personally think that could have been much better for me to figure out my future endeavours of M. Tech or job as a research internship at IIT makes the picture clear for you that whether you're a research scholar or just a job seeker.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Curriculum was as per GTU guidelines and we had 2 exams per semester, Mid Semester exam conducted by college and University exam, conducted by GTU. Labs were good, imparting practical knowledge, and were chill. Focus on research was less, but focus on entrepreneurship was more.
Placement Experience :
Internship was not allowed at my time as the attendance criteria was stringent. Placements were good as my college is the top government college in Gujarat. I myself bagged a job offer from India's largest company in the energy sector
College Events :
The events like Kshitij, Sahitya Sarita, Kaizen and Robocon took place in my college. It kept the college students engaged in extra curricular activities and helped them grow as an all rounder. Moreover, we also got opportunity to volunteer in various NGOs just by the name of our college.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
My engineering course got completed under INR 100000 considering all the costs right from assignment submission stationery to exam fees. Moreover, due to excellent academics, I was eligible for Tuition Fee Waiver scheme of Gujarat Government, but could not get it due to personal reasons. I also was successful in securing the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme under which I was to get a total sum of INR 50000 for supporting my engineering study.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
If any student has secured 90 percentile in 12 board exams, he or she is eligible for two scholarships CM Scholarship giving INR 5000 per year Central sector scholarship giving INR 10000 for first 3 years and INR 20000 in last year. I was awarded Central Sector Scholarship due to academic excellence throughout my career.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio in certain branches is good obviously due to interests so we cannot blame the college for that. Also, we had lots of extra curricular activities to try upon like various events like Kshitij, Sahitya Sarita, Kaizen and Robocon to get experienced in both cultural events and technical events along with management.
Alumni/Alumna :
Seniors are as helpful as professors, especially to the hostel guys as they've faced same situations, living away from home. But all in all, they are very supportive and help you in each moment right from teaching a subject to guiding for placements.
Admission :
40% of JEE result and 60% of 12th Board result were clubbed to get a merit list. I secured 521 rank in that merit list in Gujarat and secured admission in Mechanical Engineering which was my first choice, in the first round.
Faculty :
Faculty was all well qualified and knowledgeable with plenty of industrial as well as teaching experience. They supported the students in all situations be it assignment submissions, mid semesters results or project work. That kind of support was required in order to complete the course with full understanding and success.
