Remarks :

Overall Kumaraguru college of technology is not only the perfect place for academic excellence also perfect for extra curricular activities and sports activities. The infrastructure of the college is excellent especially the main building is superb in its architecture it may called as the Taj Mahal of Tamilnadu.

Course Curriculum Overview :

KCT is a private autonomous college affiliated to Anna University. So the course curriculum and exam structure is different from the Anna university. Maximum course are embedded with laboratories. Exam structure: Out of hundred marks fifty marks are for intenals and fifty marks are for end semester exam. Internal fifty mark is awarded as thirty marks through two continus assement test each conducted for fifty marks and converted into fifteen marks each and twenty marks for written assignment, presentation, open book test, journal writting etc.

Placement Experience :

KCT has strong background in Placement. Placement cell is functioning at KCT. Each department has its own placement coordinates. Weekly four hours placement training will be provided for the students those who are willing to attend the placement. They has separate platform for higher studies availing student and competitive exam writting students. Of course KCT provides internship programs at various leading companies.

College Events :

Kumaraguru college of technology is famous know for its techno fest Yugam. Yugam is a techno fest happening at every February. Yugam is conducted for one week. During Yugam the entire college is filled with students from other colleges. Lots of workshops and events will happen during this. Next NSS seven days camp. Blood camp passport camp. Events by clubs will conducted every month.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

There is different fee structure for merit students and management students. Iam a merit student I don't know about management fee structure. One thing is that all the fee should be payed only through online or demand draft. Among the other private Engineering college affiliated to Anna University kumaraguru college of technology Fee structure is quite expensive. There is a relaxation for first graduate students. They provide all government consideration.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Every year Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship will be offered for the ten students from all the sections of all the departments. Apart From this funds will be provided for project through Re club of kumaraguru college of technology.

Campus Life :

Kumaraguru college of technology has almost twenty numbers of clubs including NCC, NSS, VBC, RRC and many more. Kumaraguru college of technology excellence I sports activities all the sports are available here.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes. Iam a hostel student. There are six blocks for boys hostel and more than two blocks for womens hostel each has its own mess. Boys hostel and womens hostel are situated separatly. Overall the hostel rating is above average. In a room four students should be occupied. Hot water is available 24 * 7. Only the vegetarian food is available in the entire campus.

Alumni/Alumna :

Kumaraguru college of technology alumni spreaded all over the world. They can be reached at anytime for the need of college and student benefits. They helps for getting internship and industrial visits to their company where they work. Every year global alumni meet will happen in the kumaraguru college of technology almost all the alumni will participate.

Admission :

I got admission in this college through Anna university counselling. I applied for merit counselling as early as possible after the plus two results had been declared. I regularly checked the official website of the Anna university. First random number had been announced the overall rank and community wise rank had been announced. I called for counseling on specific date and time slot. I made my presence at Chennai Anna university two hours before my time slot. There my documents were verified then I allowed to choose my college and course. I selected Kumaraguru college of technology and civil as my domain. Then I went college on the date specied on the allotment letter. I completed the admission procedure. I payed the fee via Demand draft.

Faculty :

KCT have a large count in faculties especially in civil department. A well-qualified and dedicated team of staff members provides the necessary strength to the department. Most of the facilities holds PhD. Most of them are young and dynamic. They are from strong background. They have lot of contacts with large companies. They helps us from this heart.

Average college but a good place to study on your own

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Students who pursuing five and sixth semesters onwards are eligible to attend the placements and internship. Mostly the IT companies are visited frequently and core companies are low. The Highest package is 9LPA. The percentage of college placement is 78 percent. I planned to make higher studies after my degree.

Reality of Veltech

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

Best place ever visited. My Sweet College.

Placement Experience:

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
