My Review on Thakur College

Remarks :

I don't have any negative comments to say about my college. But the overall infrastructure and the teaching faculty was outstanding in their job. I miss my college days and would advise everyone to join a college like Thakur College, of your living in or around Mumbai.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum designed by University was good, as it had an outstanding exposure to the real World examples, giving us a lively example of the ongoing trends. The faculty was very helpful to each and every student in doubt solving. Also the computer laboratory was sometimes occupied, but the faculty managed to get one available for us, as thakur college has several laboratories for students.

Placement Experience :

Yes. My college provided internship opportunities and also provides job placements opportunities. Companies like ICICI, Max Bupa, Kotak Life, IndiaBulls Home Loan, etc. Have visited my college for providing job placements post graduation or course. The stipend provided by the internships company are usually between Rs. 8, 000-10, 000 and also provide internship certificate which help us in the future for securing job. My overall experience with getting a job after my post graduation was great and seamless.

College Events :

The events celebrated most commonly in our college was our Annual College Fest: Taarangan. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm by all the college students and also by other College students, who are allowed to participate in it.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure in Thakur College is a bit expensive, but it provides the best facility at that price. In M. com, the fee was charged as per each semester. The total annual fee amounted upto Rs. 33, 000/- which is a bit expensive than others, But the teachers and faculty members are great on their part.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The loans that are available are most preferably student loan by Banks. A student can opt for education loan, which is acceptable by our college. A friend of mine had opted for education loan by ICICI bank, after the course completion and his placement, he had to repay the loan.

Campus Life :

The extra curricular activities were very good in Thakur College, each and every student from our batch enjoyed the various cultural programs and events hosted by the college. Thakur College focuses mainly on events and encourages students teachers participation in it. There was no discrimination between religion, caste, creed or colour.

Hostel Facilities :

If I had opted for the hostel services, the hostel charges would add up to my fees amount. The hostel infrastructure and amenities are quiet good. All the facilities like food, water and other facilities were taken good care off. They prefer students first preference wherein they give more preference to the students and their health. The hostel facilities have options in room sharing. You can either opt into single, double sharing or 4 people sharing room for stay in hostel.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes. The students who have graduated ahead of us had a special session with us, to guide us and give us an overview of the syllabus and the course Structure. Thakur College helds a alumni network with all the senior students who have graduated and are working to come and share their experiences with others.

Admission :

Hi, I got admission into M. com E-commerce on the basis of my post graduation gpa and merit basis. The admission process was quiet simple. I chose M. Com E-commerce as it was different compared to other M. com courses offered by other institute. Also Thakur college offering a specialised course for post graduates with so many other co-curriculur activities was a plus point.

Faculty :

My opinion on the teaching faculty is outstanding. The have a good knowledge about the subject that they are teaching. Also the teacher that teach in Thakur College are Phd degree holders and have a good in field experience about their subject topic. The faculty never miss any lectures and are always on time. Its great to attend daily lecture here, even though you are compromising on your early morning sleep.
