Ayush Kalra's Review On Thapar Institute Of Engineering And Technology - [Thapar University], Patiala

Remarks :

Pros - good placements Good environment Great labs and faculty Cons- food quality poor in hostels. Fees is quite expensive. More seats increased every year thereby degrading the quality of students. As management now has become more money minded.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum needs to be modified more focused should be given on subject that are important for placement. Exam Structure is like Midterm exam followed by lab evaluation , quizzes and end term exams

Placement Experience :

The placement are job opportunities are quite amazing as compared to rest of colleges.many reputed company visit campus and placement along with internship are offered to students. My experience being a student of electronic and computer branch that last time the placement of computer and combined branches were around 75 to 80 pc with an average package of 6 lpa

College Events :

Their are various events that are being held by different societies that are present in the college and they receive a good amount of funding. The main event is our annual fest which is saturnalia. It's north India largest techno cultural fest and many colleges participate in it. The other event is spades and izhaar.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It's expensive as compared to other colleges the 4 year program cost around 16 lac including everything. The semester fees cost around 2 lac including hostel facilities and academic fees. Which is paid twice as one year consist of 2 semester

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Various scholarship are given to students who score good CGPA and their basic fees is what they get in form of scholarship. Generally the first 3 students in every branch are given and in also different years.

Campus Life :

Labs and sports centre are in a great condition with WiFi connectivity in every labs and for sports their is a seperate ground for badminton and football and also for cricket. It also has a world class level running track. And also have a decent swimming pool all in the campus itself.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes I have opted for hostel the infrastructure is pretty amazing with gym in every hostel and a reading room But when it comes to food quality it's pretty bad in some hostel as their mess are run by private company and their is high cost cutting.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni network is very good with a special alumni cell and which has contact of every pass out. Also recently the college celebrated its 50 years and the batch students were called. Their is also a seperate society named as Saic basically students alumni interaction cell. Which manages all this.

Admission :

I cleared jee mains and based on my score I was alloted this branch their were 4 online rounds of shortlisting and 2 in person counseling round after whole of the process the person is alloted seat in branch based upon their scores.

Faculty :

Senior faculty is quite good as compared to new guest faculty. As the experience matters and moreover their knowledge in the respective fields. Rest the college norms are quite strict in case of attendance

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college is good and differs in every course, the highest placement record is 45.5lpa which is going to be increased the number if companies visiting is also increasing which increases the number of placements and the average package is 8lpa. If I can't get a on campus placement then I will try for off campus placement. Students of final year of their course will be eligible for the placements if they fulfill the company putted criterias. As college promised the 100% placement but it is not right only some students were getting placed who have some extra skills and knowledge Various companies visited the college every year like Autodesk, Cisco, XPERI, Toki, Accenture, Edoofa, delta x, RT camp etc and provides a good number of placements

Placement Experience:

so every year different companies visit our campus and people from the fourth year are able to see for the placement. Firstly, we have to clear a written entrance test once clear that the company will interview them and get the job so the highest package last year went 25,00,00 per annum. However, the average package is six lakh per annum. It completely depends upon your CGPA and your personal skills, how much you groom yourself to be fit for that company. Tech and non-tech companies both visit.

Placement Experience:

If we have skills, we get placements here, and if we work hard, we can get up to 50 LPA. Most of the renowned companies will come for placements, for example, Microsoft, Google, etc. TCS will give a high number of job offers, but the package is low. It all depends on you and your skills. The placement percentage in Computer Science is about 80-90%, and the average is 7 LPA.

Placement Experience:

There were many companies like Microsoft, Infosys, TCS, Google, Wal-Mart and more than 800+ companies visited for campus placements. I will prefer for startup if I will not get the desirable placements offers.

Placement Experience:

CT University has best placement record till now. They have 400+ recruitment partners. Companies like byjus, paytm, infosys, max healthcare and capgemini have already recruited students from CT University. CTU also have corporate resource centre in ct university , to provide ample opportunities for full time internships, on job trainings and placement in reputed companies. Also, students are doing internships with stipends within the university also as CTU ambassadors along wwith theirt study, so this should be a good enough proof of the quality of the skills being imparted to the students.

The placements are good. A lot of companies like PayTm, Maruti Suzuki, etc come every year and recruit a large number of students. The placement process is of several rounds and tests. There is an Entrepreneur Cell that helps students enhance their skills.
