Entrance Preview :

National Level ICAR-JRF exam stood 17th rank, conducted by ICAR every year during April and results will be disclosed in May-June followed counselling at New Delhi based on merit student can choose any agricultural universities in the country.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It covers basic basic Bsc (Ag) curriculum with general agriculture. If student prefer to opt a particular subject such as entomology, pathology, genetics, biotechnology so on he/she has to face min 70% for that subject. UAS, GKVK stands one in ten agril universities in India.

Internships Opportunities :

Three months Rural Agril work experience programme for Uunder graduation for PG one year course work and remaining research work for UG Merit scholarship of Rs. 1200/- month for JRF (PG) 8600/- per month is offered.

Placement Experience :

Somany companies such as World's biotech giant company Monsanto, Mahyco banks like SBI, Canara, Vijaya banks etc do campus recruitment Students who wish to prepare for civils service exams like IAS, IPS, IFS, IES etc this is the best college.

College Events :

Agri Unifest (All India Agril Univeristy students participation), Kannada rajostava, all national festivals, National Sports (All India Agril Univeristy students participation), Krishi Mela (farmers, companies, students, general pulic many will attend), Competetion such quiz, scientific seminars, etc, International conferences, seminars, workshops, training will be conducted etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

For UG: 16000/- for I sem, 1200/- II sem onwards upto VIII sem for PG: 18000/- per sem for Ph.D 25000/- per semester and less during subsequent fee structure varies with the student nationality, reservations etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

ICAR-JRF, SRF, DST INSPIRE, DBT for Plant Biotech, KRIK HOUSE Trust (UK) for Ph.D, ASPEE, Univeristy merit scholarship all national banks provide loan for education.

Hostel Facilities :

For Ph.D two cotted, PG and UG 3 cotted with free inter net facility and other basic amenities. Separate Mess for boys and Girls served with break fast, Luch, snacks, dinner, coffee/tea. It has playground both indoor and out door.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

UAS Alumini association is available with separate building actively involved in conducting the get-together programmes and social awareness programmes.

Exam Structure :

Semesters course work + Practical classes on different subject for UG, Semester course work usually for one year + Research for two years or it depends on dissertation+ 2 seminars.

I chose this course because of the subject. Mainly I like the subject biotechnology it has many sub-subjects to study. Faculty members are not good but we should adjust. Students are approximately around 60. Faculty member's qualification is good but the way they teach is not proper because sometimes I don't understand the language itself. And there will be sudden tests and internals we won't get proper time to study only.

Remarks:

All in all Jain University is a great college but the school of graduate studies needs some improvement. Students spend a majority of their time in college and it's sad when that environment is uncomfortable and below a certain standard. The management also need to learn to treat students as adults no matter how ill behaved some might get- and respect their space and behave in a way that shows respect. Watching management course and threaten definatly doesnt help.
