Remarks :

Our college is not having any playground because of which no one is getting an opportunity to showcase their talent. Also, the college is having a small campus with only 4 streams which I guess must be increased.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is a standard one and we are having a semester system in the college. A total of 8 semesters are there, having internals as well as semester exams including practicals. MAKAUT course is followed by our college.

Course Fees : INR 60000 per year

Placement Experience :

Our college is having an average placement. But it has a very good placement in the textile stream. Internships are provided by our college through a few programs and with help of other organizations. Currently, I haven't been persuaded any internship.

College Events :

Our college is very well known for its cultural society. It celebrates many pujas grandly like saraswati puja and jagadharti puja. College fests are organized named ALFRESCO which is celebrated grandly. Also, reunions are conducted by our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is very feasible. Being a government college is easily affordable by anyone. It almost takes 60k for 4years. The fees are collected semester-wise through the shi bank corner. It is actually less than most of the other colleges.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Being from cbse medium I was not able to apply for any of the scholarships provided by the college. But I have applied for a military scholarship with a college bonafide certificate. But other than me many students have applied for kanyashree and Vivekanand scholarships through college.

Campus Life :

Labs are very well in our college. Our college is not having a big playground, so is quite passive regarding this. But it surely has a huge reputation in cultural activities like dance, song, theatre, etc. Our college is active in chess and table tennis in indoor games.

Hostel Facilities :

I am a day scholar. But I have visited the college hostel and can say that the infrastructure is quite well with all facilities including WiFi. The canteen is also very well and the food is quite affordable. The bathroom is also very clean.

External Expense : Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna :

Seniors are very helpful and are always there for us. The students association is very active and is always engaged in conducting events in college. Most of the activities are organized by the seniors in a very well manner.

Admission :

We need to appear for wbjee exam and the wbjee Ranking is the basis of selection in our college. Wbjee board itself conducts counseling for the college. I secured 8012 general ranks in wbjee and ultimately got an opportunity in the college in first counseling only.

Faculty :

Our college is having a very good faculty in electrical engineering and is known for its textile faculty. Our college is one out of two textile colleges in w.b. Moreover, all the faculty members are highly professional and are responsible.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

From seventh semester the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies visited are like TCS, Cognizant, infosys, mindtree and many others. The avg pkg is 6 lpa and highest is 12 lpa. 90 percent students gets placed.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
