Remarks :
The National Institute of Hotel Management is the best hotel management institute in the state. Students from all over the country, especially from north-east India come here to pursue the hotel management course. The fee is quite decent and the placement opportunities are quite diverse.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The entire study material along with sample papers were provided by the Institute. The course material was enough for the exams. We learned the disciplines of both production and servicing. The practical knowledge was the key, which also helped us during placement interview. One of the best features of the college is it’s Model hotel room for housekeeping practical.
Placement Experience :
The classroom knowledge helped me crack the placement interview. ITC Group of Hotels, TAJ Group, Hyatt Group, The Park, Fort Radission, Oberoi Group are some of the frequent recruiters from NIHM. The placement package is also quite good.
College Events :
We celebrated the sports day annually in the month of October. Saraswati Puja was among the festivals celebrated in the college campus. Our college also took arranged some picnic outings to enhance the mutual understanding amongst the students and infuse fun in between the busy schedule.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The total course expenditure was 1,80,000 Rs. which is at par with other colleges. All the classrooms and labs were air-conditioned. Hostel Facility was separate for the boys.
Campus Life :
The campus life is pretty good but the infrastructure is quite old fashioned. They should do something about it. All the faculty members pushed us to participate actively in all the extracurricular activities. It was great to see people with different skill-set showing their talent.
Admission :
I purchased the form the college itself. But you can download the same from official website. The application form is of 300 INR. After that, you have to send all the qualifying documents and wait for the merit list. My name came in the first list.
Faculty :
The faculty members were all qualified and good personalities. They offered their guidance in order to shape our career in a better direction. Their full cooperation helped us not only to get through the session, but get placed in my dream organization.
