I'm confused. Which college should I go to: SRM, Manipal, or KIIT?

DB
Dhruv Banerjee Posted On : April 25th, 2022
SRM Institute of Science and Technology

Your preference order should be SRM>Manipal>KIIT. However, you should choose one of these institutes according to your preference and requirements. SRM and Manipal are quite expensive. But these institute offers an enviable campus experience.

On an overall scale, SRM main campus will be the best choice. SRM University placements 2021 had the highest CTC of INR 35 LPA.

How is KIIT compared to Sharda, LPU and Amity University?

AS
Aradhya Swami Posted On : November 10th, 2022
B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore

KIIT is one of the top ten private engineering schools in the country. Sharda, LPU, and Amity, on the other hand, are in a different league entirely, competing for being the worst.

KIIT is an above-average college in the TIER-3 category, but it is far superior in every respect to these self-proclaimed "Best Institutes" that have extremely degraded in a lot of aspects.

Can I get CSE in KIIT with a rank of 39251?

IB

Getting CSE in KIIT with a rank of 39251 will be difficult. In 2021, the required cutoff for CSE at KIIT was 5044. KIIT only takes into account your score in KIITEEE and your board percentage for admission.

However, if you get admission to a different branch, there is still an option for changing the branch to another department. If you have the required GPA in the first semester, then you can put it in the application for changing the branch to whatever they wish for. You can talk to the seniors and know the procedure.

Yes, companies such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook hire students from BITS, VIT, or KIIT. In fact, they hire from colleges all across the country. These companies are all for skills. If you have the required skill set, you can get interview calls from these companies. If you belong to some IIT, you will certainly have some advantage over the others.

Which is better in terms of fees, studies, placements, food and hostels, KIIT or GITAM University?

HA

B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology

KIIT is a better option in terms of fees, academics, placements, and hostel accommodation. The placement opportunities available are especially good for CSE, IT, and ETC branches. Many IT firms frequently visit KIIT placements and hire a huge number of students. During 2022 placement drive, students received an average CTC of around INR 6.05 LPA. Some of the major recruiters for the institute are Escorts, Capgemini, Accenture, Infosys, etc.

What happens in the orientation programme in KIIT?

TS
Tanisha Sinha Posted On : August 31st, 2021
B.Tech from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (2019)

The orientation programme in KIIT is lengthy and the students are made to sit for 2 hours while the faculties and the honorable founder address them. But there are many students who are highly enthusiastic about this day too.

There are three kinds of orientation programs held at KIIT University. These are:

  • Class Orientation: In this, the students are given a tour of their classrooms, made to fill necessary forms and an interactive session is witnessed between the teachers/mentors and the students.
  • Student Orientation: In this, all the students are required to gather in the auditorium for the speeches of honorable guests and respected faculty. The Vice-Chancellor and The Dean address the students as well.
  • Hostel Orientation: During this orientation, the students are handed out a list of rules to be obliged by them throughout their stay.

So these are the basic things I got to know from some of my friends studying at IIM Indore. The orientation could be interesting to some while it may feel hectic to others.

If unluckily I would get less than 60% in 12 boards but I have already got EEE branch in KIIT during KIIT Counselling, then will I get admission there?

You’ll get an admission at KIIT. You don’t need to worry on that front. But the main issue is regarding placements. Most IT and core companies have an eligibility requirement of 60% or more in 10th and 12th boards. Though some companies don’t have a strict minimum requirement.

But the point is, if you want to sit for a good number of companies during placements, you’ll need at least 60% in your 12th boards. This does not apply only to KIIT, but every university/college.

I am getting 93.86 percentile (Rank 66441) in the JEE Mains 2021 and already got CSE at KIIT Bhubaneswar. Can I get a better college than KIit in JoSAA?

With your decent score, you might be able to make it to a tier 3 government college. Well, whether you would get into the CSE branch or not would be based on your performance in the GD & PI round.

  • KIIT is a tremendous college with its exceptional faculty and academics among others in this league.
  • Although, the tuition fee at KIIT is quite high.
  • Since you have already got into CSE at KIIT, and the fee structure is not beyond your expectations, then it would be a great opportunity to continue at KIIT.
  • Acquiring a seat in CSE in any other college would be difficult and more of a hassle, therefore KIIT seems to be a great option for now.
  • The KIIT University is among the Best Private Universities in India with CSE as the best and an exceptional branch.
  • The students are provided with great placement opportunities and the placement records have shown 100 percent placements in recent years.
Categories KIIT Bhubaneswar
Course Fee 12.91 lakh
Highest CTC 24 LPA
Average CTC 10-12 LPA
Recruiting Companies Mu Sigma, Accenture, TCS, IBM, etc.

The 100 percent placement is guaranteed when the students in the branch are equally hardworking and skillful in their subjects of interest.

Which is better: CS from KIIT or mechanical from Thapar University?

SF
Sahil Farsaiya Posted On : August 6th, 2021
Studied at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology

Having known some people studying in both these institutions, I can say that KIIT is promising and is getting better every year. Thapar is a well-known and much older institute. You can choose either by preferring the college or the branch.

  • If you are interested in studying mechanical engineering then go to Thapar. It has good placements for Mechanical. The faculty department is also decent.
  • If you are more inclined towards coding go for CSE from KIIT. It is a more practical-oriented subject.
  • If the interests do not lie in either and you just want a B.Tech degree and want to pursue higher studies or MBA, then go for CSE as that is the easiest among all the others.
  • It will be more practical-based learning, more industry-oriented and it has the best scope after graduation.
Categories CS from KIIT Mechanical at Thapar
Course Fee 12.91 lakhs 13.23 lakhs
Highest CTC 30 LPA 19 LPA
Average CTC 12-16 LPA 11 LPA
Recruiting Companies Wipro, Infosys, Dell, Deloitte, etc. Tech Mahindra, TCS, JP Morgan, Cisco, etc.

So you should decide your field of interest and what type of job or higher studies you would like to do and then opt for the branch that fits best for you.
