Ans. If you have to choose between BITS and IIITA. You should definitely go with IIIT Allahabad. At IIITA, there is no home state quota i.e. seats reserved for students of Allahabad. BITS has a no-reservation policy.

Coding Culture
So, if you have the option to choose between CSE at BITS Hyderabad and IT at IIIT Allahabad, go with IIITA as it is better than BITS in almost all aspects.
No, except the Mechanical Engineering branch of MIT Manipal, it cannot be compared to one of the best private engineering colleges, BITS.
MIT Manipal may have better infrastructure than BITS Goa and Hyderabad but fails to give an edge in other aspects such as placements, coding culture, campus life, club culture, and brand name.
So it can be safely concluded that Manipal is improving, but it is yet to reach the level of BITS.
Naturally, BITS Goa and Hyderabad weren’t planned randomly. There are years of strategic planning behind the establishment of these campuses.
I learned from one of the faculties of BITS Pilani that the late Mr. K. K Birla wanted to expand BITS campuses way back in 1990s and assigned the task to the administration to find a suitable location for the second campus. During the tech boom of the 90s, IT companies were setting up shops everywhere in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai. They strategically choose Goa as it is between these two locations and well-connected because of its airport. The location also helped them attract faculties from IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore. Mr. Monahar Parrikar, then CM approved the project quickly, and that’s how it was possible to set up the Goa campus so quickly.
The Hyderabad campus also has a similar story. Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu, the CM of united Andra Pradesh back then, requested BITS to set up a campus in Hyderabad. He provided land for the campus and construction work was quick to follow. When the first batch joined in 20008, the infrastructure was already done.
Between NIT Calicut and BITS Hyderabad, the latter is the better option irrespective of the branch you are getting. Here are a few points of difference between the two institutes.
In my opinion, BITS Hyderabad should be your preference provided that you have no monetary issues.
BITS Hyderabad, which is affiliated under BITS Pilani, ranked 30th by NIRF amongst top engineering colleges in India, is very well renowned for computer science. While IIT Tirupati was recently established and hasn’t been ranked yet by NIRF.

Placement
BITS Hyderabad
It has an average placement rate of 94% for computer science. Top recruiters are Aditya Birla Group, Microsoft, Adobe, BeeHyv, Amazon, etc. Other notable features are:
IIT Tirupati
It is relatively new, hence much detailed placement data is not yet available. Major recruiters are Envestnet Yodlee, Bosch, TCS, Honeywell, etc.
Both BITS and IITs have a brand value but Tirupati being a new institute, is yet to make its mark. Faculties at both the colleges are highly qualified. Computer science is the most sought-after skill in the present industry and hence if one works hard, he/she can excel.
NIT Warangal and BITS Hyderabad are renowned institutes in India. But BITS Hyderabad is leading due to some reasons, which are listed below
Internship – BITS Hyderabad provides a six months internship program right after the degree program. This experience is beneficial for getting a full-time job
Dual Placement – The core companies visit the college twice a year so the students can sit for the interview two times
Early Graduation – The degree program can be completed six months early, or you can take a break for six months and complete the degree on time.
Coding Culture – BITS Hyderabad has a highly competitive culture in ICPC. The trend toward open-source development increased GSOC selections.
Peer Group – This institute does not have reservations, so you will have a healthy peer group
Minor Degrees – You can also pursue other minor degree courses like data science, finance, robotics, etc., which adds an edge to your inclinations.
Overall, BITS Hyderabad is a better choice than NIT Warangal.
Here are the previous year's BITS HD cutoff for M.E. in Civil Engineering to get admission to BITS Pilani and Hyderabad.
Campus | Cutoff |
BITS Pilani | 120 |
BITS Hyderabad | 145 |
Keep in mind the cutoff varies each year. You will need a score of around 150+ to be safe. BITS also accept GATE scores for M.E. admission.
BITS HD cutoff 2022 will be released after the announcement of results in the last week of June.
For an M.E. in Computer Science, you should prefer BITS Hyderabad. The placements are slightly better for the Hyderabad campus. The city houses a lot of IT and Electronics companies, so it's easier to get good exposure and placements. The recent highlights of BITS Hyderabad placement show the median CTC to be INR 12 LPA. Each year almost 95% of students get placed from the branch.
BITs Hyderabad is a good institute for electrical and communication engineering. Their placement records are definitely better than NIT Durgapur according to placement records of 2019. But few companies are offering starting salary of 10-15 LPA that may be the highest salary package through placement process.
Tabulated below are the course highlights as provided by both the institutes:

The following graph shows the placement details of both the institutes:
The Department of Metallurgy and Material Sciences was established in 2012; you won’t regret choosing this institute as you will have the advantage of the brand name IIT. Most companies prefer IIT students, and it is also beneficial if you are planning to attend competitive entrance exams like the CAT, GMAT, and so on.
