IIT Indore CSE department is becoming stronger in terms of placements only and its curriculum is still very lacking. The placements too can be much better especially for Graduate Schools in the US.
Many students have this preconceived notion that it’s much easier to get into a Masters program than Bachelor’s. Also students come for consultation quite late sometimes even in their final semester. Students should approach the faculty in their 3rd year so that the professors can help them during placements.
It’s true that the IIT Indore CSE department is improving every year and the credit goes to the hardworking students of the department.
Out of the two, IIT Indore EE seems to be the better option. Here are a few points that work in favor of my opinion
As for the placements, I will let the table newly speak the facts

I have friends from both IIT Indore and NITK and based on their experiences, you will get placed excellently at both the colleges given that you have a great profile. But if you are planning to go for higher studies, then the IIT tag comes to play.
All mentioned institutes were founded in the year 2008 except IIT Indore which was founded one year later in 2009. Reputed companies such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Samsung, Cognizant, Amazon, Cisco offer jobs to students of these institutions.
The CSE branch at IIT Indore is comparable to the CSE branch of older IITs. Also, it is the highest recruiting branch at IIT Indore with more than 98% of students were placed in 2019. The coding environment of IIT Indore is very good. That is why its CSE department has ranked 4th in all over India. IIT Patna also has a Software lab, Network security lab, Advance lab, and Hardware lab. Among new IITs, IIT Indore and IIT Patna have come a long way in CSE branch. The CSE department of IIT Bhubaneswar is also equipped with research laboratories such as Systems Laboratory, Algorithms Laboratory, Computer Architecture Laboratory, Digital Signal Processing and Embedded Systems Laboratory. The department also offers specialized elective courses such as Software reliability, Artificial Intelligence.
IIT Indore has an edge over these institutions for CSE. But which IIT you should choose is entirely up to you so make the decision according to your convenience.
IIT Bhubaneshwar and IIT Indore, both of these institutes are good for CSE.
According to the National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF), IIT Indore is on the 10th rank lies a lot ahead than IIT Bhubaneshwar which is on the 22nd rank.
IIT Bhubaneshwar provides a good CSE program and also has a much better coding culture than the other IITs. The experience gathered by the seniors also adds up a lot to the coding and web development club. The institute offers a good placement rate to its students. In 2019 there was 100% placement from CSE. The average CTC offered was 11.44 LPA. IIT Bhubaneshwar being in a city that is a hub to headquarters of many huge companies like Tata adds up a lot to the institute’s opportunities. The quality of education provided at the institute is also good as the methods of teaching used by the professors are unique and effective.
IIT Indore provides its students with computer science engineering with a fairly good placement rate. In 2019 the placement rate at this IIT was 99% and the average salary package offered was around 16.06 LPA. This institute also has an amazing team of professors, especially the faculty of Computer Science Engineering.
Rest, it is always up to a student’s preference for him/her to choose as both of these institutes have their own benefits to offer.
According to the ranking, faculty, placements, salaries, etc. IIT Indore will be a better choice than IIT Bhubaneswar for civil engineering.

Both the branches are totally different from each other so first decide what you want to study for the next 4 years. Both the IITs are new and there is not much difference in them. Metallurgy is a sub-branch of mechanical and civil is a core branch. Civil engineering has better job opportunities if you compare it to metallurgy engineering.
The average package at IIT Indore for the year 2019 was 16.05 LPA and at IIT Bhubaneswar it was 11.44 LPA. If you want to get a job in the core-sector then it would be a bit difficult because both the branches have very low placements in the core sector. Students usually go for higher studies and others for non core placements. Civil engineering will give you a better opportunity if you want to go for higher studies.
The suggestion will be that you should focus on what branch you are more passionate about and choose that. Don’t go compare colleges, both are IITs therefore are equally good and offer similar facilities.
According to me, Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Indore is a better choice than opting for IIT Bhubaneswar. I am a student of IIT Indore and I can vouch for it.
