What is the difference between JNTUH and JNTUH CEH?

RD
Raashi Dey Posted On : September 3rd, 2021
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2019)

Having to know some people studying in both these institutions, I can state some details about the colleges I got to know from them. There are some key differences between JNTUH and JNTUH CEH.

JNTUH stands for Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad whereas JNTUH CEH stands for Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad- College of Engineering.

  • JNTUH is an autonomous university and just like any other university, it follows its rules.
  • They also update their courses regularly as per the needs of the students.
  • JNTUH CEH is an autonomous college referred to as University College by most students.
  • JNTUH CEH is mainly for technical branches and studies related to it.
  • The University College is under the management and jurisdiction of JUNUH.
  • Jawaharlal Nehru University provides affiliation to various other Engineering and Pharmacy Institutions.

Also the JNTU- H is commonly used to differentiate between the main and the sister universities like JNTUK is for Kakinada, JNTUA is for Anantapur. It is differentiated by the post letter after the main institute’s name.

How is the boys hostel facility in JNTUH Kukatpally for M Tech students?

SD
Sai Kumar Dhillon Posted On : August 8th, 2023
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2016)

My brother was an M.Tech student at JNTUH a few years back. He lived in the Krishna hostel during those days. According to him, you should not expect much in terms of facilities. The hostel is comfortable but during the rains my brothers’ room got filled with rain water and he had a tough time protecting his belongings.

The greenery of the campus is soothing and the playgrounds are nice. The mess food is limited in quantity and is pretty average in taste. The hostel administration is slow. Some of my brother’s friends used to sleep in the library and TeQip when their rooms got affected with mosquitoes. You will find the TeQip and library much better places to study rather than the hostel.

My brother did not have a pleasant experience at the JNTUH Kukatpally boys hostel as an M.Tech student.

How much percentage is required in each semester to get an overall B.Tech 75 percentage in JNTUH ?

HJ
Hirdekh Jain Posted On : August 8th, 2023
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2016)

If you are aiming for 75% at the end of your B.Tech from JNTUH, you need to maintain an aggregate of 75% in every semester. This may become challenging because not every semester allows you to score 75% easily. In case for a semester you score less than 75%, work harder and get a really good percentage like 80% in another semester which has better prospects in order to cover up.

One is never guaranteed an excellent score in the JNTUH exam. The checking might be tough or lenient for a particular exam, it is a matter of luck. Sometimes when you expect really good scores, you might end up scoring less, and vice versa. Your lab exams are equally important. A good score in them will definitely work to increase your percentage in the finals.

Thus, with proper planning and hardwork, you can score 75% overall in your B.Tech from JNTUH.

How do they use mid term examination marks in the semester's result? They conduct two midterms so which one is considered (JNTUH)?

HJ
Hirdekh Jain Posted On : August 8th, 2023

JNTUH conducts two midterm exams during a semester. An average of the marks in both these exams is calculated and added to the external exam scores to get the final examination scores. The final examination is for 100 marks, in which 60 marks are for the external exams and 40 marks are for the internals. Out of 25, you need to score 35% on the average of the two midterms.

Thus, your marks in both the midterm exams are equally important and both are considered while calculating the final result.

How many marks should I get in the TS EAMCET to get a seat into JNTUH under the cap quota?

NG
Nikita Guha Posted On : August 8th, 2023
B.Tech from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad

Depending on a person’s reservation category, their rank in TS EAMCET has to be <10k for them to get a seat in JNTUH. For cap-category students, the rank cutoff is extended further. Even if you get above 30k, some branches will be open for you. During my brother’s admission a few years back, around 55k students got into the Metallurgy Department.

Thus, as a cap quota candidate, you can get a seat in JNTUH even with a rank above 30k, but this may vary if you wish to get into a particular branch.

How is JNTUH for an MBA?

KS
Kalyan Sinha Posted On : May 27th, 2022
MBA from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad

JNTUH Hyderabad isn’t a good option for an MBA. It doesn’t offer good placements and exposure to students. Go for this institute, if you only want an MBA degree. If you want good job profiles with cushy salary packages after graduation, you should look for other options.

JNTUH offers good academics. The institute has great faculties for Finance and Marketing.

Is it hard to gain admission to the MSIT course at JNTUH?

JP
Jiten Pradhan Posted On : August 8th, 2023
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2020)

It is not difficult to get admission into the MSIT course at JNTU Hyderabad. You just need to prepare the basic quantitative test material and you will qualify for the entrance exam.

MSIT course is offered at  IIIT H, JNTUH, JNTUA, and JNTUK. Out of 1000 candidates who seek admission into these institutions for the MSIT program, even if you are in the 300th or 400th position, you will get into one among JNTUH, JNTUA, or JNTUK.

I would suggest you aim for IIIT H for your MSIT. If you do not get admission over there, then you can choose JNTUH as your second option. IIIT H has a better reputation and placement record in comparison to JNTU Hyderabad.

I would also recommend you consult the concerned faculty, students, and alumni at these institutions to get a clearer picture of whether or not this is a good course for you. Do pay attention to coding apart from the desire of getting placed in an MNC. MSIT is a very fast-paced and difficult course. You will have to learn more than the prescribed topics.

Overall, getting into JNTU Hyderabad for your MSIT is not difficult but do keep IIIT Hyderabad as your first priority.

Which is better for good placements, NIT Warangal for Civil or JNTUH for CSE?

PG
Palak Goyal Posted On : February 27th, 2024
Lives in New Delhi

NIT Warangal is a renowned college. You can choose it if the NIT tag matters to you. Even civil students can sit for some IT companies during campus placements at NITW. But for that, you’ll have to take out time and study the important concepts of CS. The civil curriculum is good at NITW, but you’ll face difficulty in getting a core job.

On the other hand, JNTUH is also a good college. If studying CSE is your passion, you should choose this option. In this case, don’t seek the college name, and instead, opt for your branch of interest.

JNTUH will offer you good placements, and so will NITW. But if you choose Civil, you might not get a core job. You’ll have to learn coding on your own to land a good IT job during campus placement.

Which is a better option, IIIT Allahabad, JNTUH, or JNTUK?

SS
Shambhavi Sharma Posted On : July 6th, 2021
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (2019)

JNTUH (Hyderabad) and JNTUK (Kakinada) are the local JNTUs that offers seats based on rank in TS Eamcet and AP Eamcet respectively while IIIT Allahabad is a Central Government Funded College that allocates seats based on rank achieved by the student in JEE Main.

  • Nevertheless, JNTUH has got a good reputation among all the colleges present in Hyderabad.
  • It is located in the heart of the city with all facilities available in a hand’s reach.
  • IIIT Allahabad has a good college environment but lacks only in location factor.
  • It is a better college when you compare college placement statistics.
  • Any branch in IIITA is better when compared to JNTU. CSE in JNTUH is known for its faculty.
