Are the courses at NICMAR hard?

SK
Sharthak Kulkarni Posted On : May 18th, 2023
studied at National Institute of Construction Management and Research (2018)

No. There are four branches in NICMAR that deal with the same subjects but in different semesters. The faculty at NICMAR understands that students come to the institute mainly for placements and not solely to focus on studies, so they are also relaxed. Initially, the courses might appear challenging, but as one becomes accustomed to them, they learn how to skip subjects that are not relevant to their career.

The two-year program at NICMAR is said to be full of placement opportunities, so students prioritize their placement over their courses. After getting placed, they feel like they have accomplished their NICMAR life and enjoy the rest of their time at the institute without attending classes properly, only studying enough to pass exams.

NICMAR courses are not difficult, especially for open-minded individuals. The institute's focus is primarily on placements, and students prioritize their careers over their courses.

Is the huge fee for NICMAR really worth?

SK
Sharthak Kulkarni Posted On : May 8th, 2023
studied at National Institute of Construction Management and Research (2018)

It is a subjective thing and depends on many factors like your background, goals, preferences and economic condition.

NICMAR’s huge fee is not really worth it if you don’t have any interest in MBA in construction management or any other domain that it offers. However, you can go for it if you want to pursue these courses.

NICMAR provides an average package of 6.5 lakhs and the average fees is around 7.5 lakhs. So, the RoI is pretty low. Also, it will take at least 11 months to 2 years so, see if you have time as well or not.

Which institute would be the best for construction management, either RICS (Mumbai) or NICMAR by all aspects?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : May 18th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

RICS Mumbai and NICMAR have launched new campuses recently, but the Indore and Delhi campuses of NICMAR, as well as the Mumbai campus of RICS, are relatively unknown and lack proper infrastructure.

Instead of measuring every aspect, the most important factor to consider is the Return on Investment (ROI). RICS Noida, NICMAR Pune, Hyderabad, and partially Goa campuses are able to achieve a good ROI.

Institute

Fees

Average Package

ROI

RICS Mumbai

10 lakh

5 LPA

NICMAR

11.15 lakh

7 LPA

Placement statistics can be manipulated on college websites, and it is advisable to consult college seniors if you want the real figures. RICS Mumbai cannot compete with NICMAR Pune, Hyderabad, and Goa campuses, but it can compete well with NICMAR Indore and Delhi campuses.

Can a civil engineer crack NICMAR entrance with one month preparation?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : June 3rd, 2023
lives in New Delhi

Although passing the NICMAR entrance exam is not very difficult, you’ll require to practice your verbal and aptitude skills more because of the intense competition for the major branches like ACM (Pune) and PEM.

For reading, you could start by investing 60 minutes of your daily time into a few articles and make sure that the articles are from diverse sources and topics so that you can develop a habit of reading without getting overwhelmed which could also improve your speed. Read over current circumstances as well because the GD round no longer exists so during the interview, they might ask you a haphazard question on a topical issue. Additionally, interviewers tend to ask straightforward technical questions. Plan beforehand. Always prepare your basics well.

Being a mechanical engineer, should I do an ACM from NICMAR, Delhi NCR?

KS
Kanika Sharma Posted On : September 20th, 2021

My brother is a mechanical engineer who took the path you're planning to take. You can surely do ACM from NICMAR. Although, I will recommend that you do it from the Pune Campus.

It is better in terms of Placement opportunities available. It is more diverse and will help you in being exposed to varied perspectives.

A lot of opportunities await you as a Mechanical Engineer in the Middle East in HVAC and in the MEP Departments of Construction Companies.
