There will be a handful of seats available for branch change and branch modifications do not only occur when you fill in a form. You will have other brilliant and ambitious students to compete with. 

Choosing the right branch:

If you are facing trouble choosing the right branch, you should remember the following things.

• Don’t opt for a branch just because of the higher CTC, or college brand name, etc. Because the degree you will get is for life. So, make sure you are interested to work in the field that you are choosing. 
• Also, go through the syllabus given on the official website and see if you can do the coursework for the branch of your choosing.

My brother was a student of MNNIT Allahabad and for his 1st year, the highest CGPA was 9.67, while many scored 9. So, the chances of branch upgradation are quite slim.

One of my friends was a former student of this institute, and he was 2015 pass out batch. As per his advice, you would definitely face a difficult time getting success and fulfilling your dream if you opt for Production Engineering. 

However, a small number of students get jobs in the core sector after studying this engineering stream. If you are satisfied with the jobs in IT companies, like Infosys, TCS and so on, you can go for this subject.

However, my friend has studied Metallurgical Engineering in this institute, but a maximum number of his friends was from Production Engineering Stream. Thereby, the student must act wisely.

After doing some research online, I would suggest not to go for IEM at Ramaiah, until and unless you are extremely interested in studying that particular subject. Since it will not pay you anything and you will eventually wind up in the same category of mass placement at one of the service-based companies. 

Double-check the topics you will be studying. EEE is usually less exposed than IEM, yet EEE is regarded as the most complex branch to be studied. 

The majority of EEE / ECE / other branches receive job offers from Infosys, HCL, Accenture, or Tech Mahindra.

So, what is the point of learning core Electronics if all you have to do at the conclusion of your engineering degree is code? If you want to build a career, think seriously about the branch you select. Regardless of the institution you attend, I believe EEE is far superior to IEM. Pursue EEE only if you are truly passionate about the subject.

In the 2019-20 placement session, more than 200 students were placed in top-notch MNCs. A total of 18% students were offered PPOs. More than 65 recruiters participated in the campus recruitment who offered 70 students a package above INR 10 LPA.

IIITM Gwalior is a far better choice than MNNIT Allahabad. IIITM Gwalior is way ahead than MNNIT Allahabad in terms of placements. It is because the job opportunities after pursuing IT/CSE course from IIITM Gwalior is plenty and provides tremendous scope in future.
