The placement scenario of NIT Warangal, Surathkal, and Trichy is somewhat the same with minor differences only. One of my friends studied at NIT Warangal and shed some light on the placement scenario there. Here is a branch-wise analysis
Overall, placements are similar in all the 3 NITs, NIT Warangal, Trichy, and Surathkal.
The campus life is great for both BTech and MTech students at NIT Surathkal. The campus is beautiful providing all necessary amenities. The frequent events and activities conducted on campus make life more vibrant here. The best part is that this is the only college with a private beach. You can always come here to release your stress. The campus always has a pleasant climate and also enjoys good connectivity. Mangalore and Udupi are reachable within an hour.
Placements for MTech are good, especially for branches like ECE and CSE. For other branches, the situation is not very good like any other. Additionally, there are many technocultural events for intellectual development. So choose wisely after considering all factors.
The JEE Mains score required to get into NIT Surathkal depends on the branch you are seeking.

Even though I am a CSE student at VIT Vellore, I would like to point out some weaknesses of my institution-
NIT Surathkal, on the other hand, is a government college. It has an intake of around 800 students in all the branches, with 120 students in CSE. The institution offers top notch placements. There are no mass hirings. The course fee falls between 1.38 to 1.57 Lakhs per year. College rules are much more flexible.
Thus, based on these observations, I would suggest you take admissions in NIT Surathkal for your CSE program.
