Will I get any scholarship in BIET, Jhansi?

SG
Shalini Gupta Posted On : February 19th, 2021
Studied at Bundelkhand Institute Of Engineering And Technology (2018)

This actually depends on a number of factors. Normally, UP government colleges work on the principle of merit. So, if you have scored considerably high marks your chances of getting a scholarship invariably increases. Moreover, if you are from a financially weak family background, there are scholarships specially meant for candidates like you. Once you submit your family’s income certificates and other related documents, you are eligible for the scholarship. Before this, scholarships were often provided to students with names starting with the letter “A.”

The thing about getting a scholarship at BIET is that you are required to submit the fees at the starting of every year, which will later be refunded to your bank account by Samaj Kalyan Vibhag. Please note that all the scholarships being mentioned here, is only applicable to the tuition fees.

There is an option for candidates originating from UP, coming from poor family backgrounds that you can claim all your fees refunded by the end of the semester.

Some of the basic criteria to fill out the scholarship form at BIET are:

  • Your father must not be a government service employee
  • The total family’s income should be less than 4 lacs annually
  • You should not be having any scholarship under your name from any other institute

If you are successful in fulfilling all the above explained criteria, you are eligible for a handsome sum of Rs. 60,000 approximately. Do not miss the chance to fill out the scholarship form before the deadline for the same.

JSS Noida is equally good; it is one of the most prestigious private colleges located in Delhi NCR.

Which is better: IT or chemical engineering at HBTI, Kanpur, or CS (or any other branch) at IET, Lucknow or BIET, Jhansi or KNIT, Sultanpur?

HG
Himanshu Gupta Posted On : February 16th, 2021
B.Tech from Bundelkhand Institute Of Engineering And Technology (2018)

Having friends from IET and studying at BIET, I have enough knowledge about both the institutions. So, my suggestion will be HBTI. It will be a better choice than the others. But before selecting any college you must first learn about each college and its branches.

Firstly while choosing an institution, know where your interest lies and then opt for the desired subject. Secondly, choose the college which gives you more exposure. Make the list of all the pros and cons of the institutions and make a final decision based on it.

  • Research about every stream - Gain information about each stream the college is offering, and choose the one that strikes your interest. Also research about the future prospects of the subject, which will help you make an informed decision.
  • Examine what you require from the college - Every student has a different need from the institution they study in. This could be prospects in higher education, competitive exams like CAT, GATE, UPSC or maybe the college’s industrial, cultural and technical exposure.
  • Pointing out pros and cons of any institution is equally necessary. Talking to ex-students of that institution will provide a clearer picture of the institution. Always before committing over an institution, check your long term goals and how it will strengthen your career.

IT or Chemical Engineering from Harcourt Butler Technical University or HBTI will be a better option than other colleges. HBTI is one of the oldest engineering institutes that offers Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral programs. The placement cell of HBIT is also good. Therefore, you can choose the HBTI for IT or Chemical Engineering. You can choose either branch in the field as per your interest and in the sector, you want to pursue your career.

Should I choose mechanical at Thapar or ECE at BIET Jhansi?

EP
Ekta Pandey Posted On : April 21st, 2021
Studied at BIET Jhansi (2019)

The best advice and answer for your question would be to, “Follow your heart". This is not supposed to be cliché but the best choice that you can make would be the one where you believe your career is.

If you have a keen interest in machines, automobiles, and thermodynamics, then you must opt for Mechanical Engineering. If you hold an interest in circuit branches, then you should opt for Electrical Engineering. If you realise your niche and have an honest interest in your branch then your choice of college would not matter much as the Course curriculum for Engineering is almost the same for both colleges.

A lot of people believe that Mechanical Engineering is the toughest but you should do your research before opting for your branch. Choosing the right branch will also give you enough time to prepare for CAT while attending your college.

Thapar University can be the best option if you can afford the fee. You will be given better job opportunities once you complete the degree. BIET Jhansi is recognized in UP only and the placement opportunity is very less. A few of my friends from BIET Jhansi have often complained about lack of resources and a very competitive environment.

How is BIET Jhansi CS?

RM
Rishi Mathur Posted On : February 19th, 2021
B.Tech CS at BITS Pilani,2020

CS at BIET Jhansi is great. Candidates get placed in companies like Adobe, Accenture, Infosys, TCS. The highest package offered last year was from Adobe of 12 LPA and the average salary ranges around INR 6-7 LPA.

Top Recruiters:

Major recruiters at BIET Jhansi are IT companies such as Accenture, Infosys, TCS, etc. Other companies visiting in development are Newgen, NEC HCL, IBM.

Alumni Base:

The institute has a huge alumni base placed in reputed MNCs like Microsoft, Amazon, etc.

Placement Cell:

There is a chance that you might be unlucky and won’t get job offers from the on-campus placement due to the uncontrollable placement committee affairs. The placement committee of this college needs to be improved as it doesn't function properly and the campus placements in the coming years can’t be predicted.

Off-Campus Placements:

Students of this college also get decent packages through off-campus placements, on the basis of their skills and knowledge. As many students have explored off-campus placements in the past and got placed in companies like Samsung, Bombardier, Honeywell, etc.

Here is a brief overview of the CS program at BIET Jhansi.

Basis

Statistics

Course Fee for Btech

INR 61,800

Cut off

1101-1514

Average CTC

INR 7-8 LPA

Start-up:

If you have any innovative ideas, you can get the opportunity to begin your own start-up.

New age students, who have started their own companies, like Washinguns in the Noida region are doing well.

However, based on the above information it seems that BIET Jhansi is a very good choice to opt for hence you can think of getting admission here. To know more about the course you can contact the current students.

SP
Sudha Patel Posted On : February 16th, 2021
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, Bundelkhand Institute Of Engineering And Technology (2018)

The college offers on-campus hostel facilities along with mess facilities for both genders. There are four hostels for boys and two for girls which accommodate 1500 persons and more. Some details about hostel life and mess food are as follows.

Mess facilities:

  • The mess food is good, it is tasty but also oily because of the locality.
  • They have non-vegetarian food once a week in boys hostels only.
  • You get good hygienic regular Indian meals every day.

Hostel Life:

  • There are single rooms for final year students and shared rooms for juniors at all the hostels.
  • Water supply is extremely poor because of the location of the college.
  • Electricity supply is very good; there are rarely any power cuts in the hostels.
  • Internet connectivity is great; there is an internet connection in every college for residential students.
  • Every college hostel has a common room for leisure, cultural activities, and interaction.

How is IET Lucknow, KNIT Sultanpur & BIET Jhansi in terms of placement for MCA students?

VB
Vandana Batra Posted On : April 21st, 2021
B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering, Kamla Nehru Institute Of Technology (2016)

The placement scenario for MCA is not considered as good as it is for B.Tech students in KNIT Sultanpur. The thing that matters the most is your consistency in working during MCA.

My brother has recently graduated from IET and based on his experience, I can suggest you a few points:

  • In IET Lucknow, MCA student sits with B.Tech students for the placements. It becomes important to see how better you are when compared to the skills of B.Tech students.
  • As compared to the other two, IET Lucknow is the best as it had more exposure because of its city. The city gives you better options for training.
  • It is near AKTU, so if there are any new updates, you get the information early. Of all the colleges affiliated with AKTU, IET is ranked No. 1. It is an autonomous college as well.

It is important to acknowledge that MCA placements are in no comparison with that of B.Tech but still it gives better exposure as compared to any Government College. BIET Jhansi does not offer MCA, so there’s no comparison with it.

What should I take with me when reporting to BIET Jhansi? What documents and GAP certificates are required?

AR
Ahana Roychowdhury Posted On : February 16th, 2021
B.Tech from Bundelkhand Institute Of Engineering And Technology (2018)

Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology is located in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Every year, the college offers admissions to programmes such as B. Tech, M. Tech, MBA which is followed by counselling and registration at the college.

Required Documents:

The documents required for registration are as follows.

  • Two copies of all relevant certificates such as 10th certificate, 12th certificate, UPSEE rank, UPSEE admit card, Domicile certificate, Income certificate, Category certificate etc
  • Two sets of passport size photographs in colour and in black and white format.

Try to carry all the relevant original documents and their photocopies when you are going for registration. The registration process is fairly easy and quick if you have all the documents in place and well-drafted. The staff at the registration is overworked and unsupportive so try to keep all your documents in the right order and always have photocopies of the documents. Be ready and do not expect any sophistication in the process.

How is BIET, Jhansi in terms of education, infrastructure, hostel and the students?

RS
Rajender Singh Posted On : April 21st, 2021
Studied at Bundelkhand Institute Of Engineering And Technology (2019)

You should not expect high as it is a government college. The faculty at BIET is not that great. Most of the classes are given by guest faculty. The classroom education is not up to the expectations.

There will be enough time for self-preparation with the help of the seniors.

There will be few things that the students need to bring with them before heading towards the hostel of BIET.

  • You need to bring your own mattresses and pillow. Only the bed is provided.
  • You need to bring your own bucket, a mug, and your personal essentials.
  • There are a lot of mosquitoes and thus mosquito repellents are essential.

These things can be also bought by the canteen outside the hostel. Things can also be bought in the city which is 8km away.

There will be many types of students at BIET including very studious students who will never miss any class and become the teacher’s favorite.

For accommodation, the first-year students are occupied in three occupancy rooms. The second-year students are given four-seater rooms and third and fourth-year students are given single occupancy rooms. Hostels are different in all the years.

The students should meet the recent pass out and current students of the college and know the current situation.
