SRM University PhD Admission 2022 Open; Last Date to Apply is December 15

New Delhi: SRM University has begun the application process for admission to the PhD programme for the academic session 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @https://www.srmist.edu.in/. 

SRM University offers PhD programmes in various specialisations for full-time, part-time (internal and external) in the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT-Phase II, which was initiated by the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) of the Govt. of India. Candidates seeking admission to the programme can submit their applications till December 15, 2022. 

Admission to the PhD programme is done through department entrance examination conducted by the university followed by presentation and interview.

The PhD doctoral courses are offered under various faculties of the university namely Management, Science & Humanities, Medicine & Health Sciences & Engineering & Technology.

SRM University PhD Admission 2022-23: Highlights 

All the full-time PhD scholars who are selected for provisional registration during the admission year 2022-23 onwards will be paid Rs. 25,000/- per month for a maximum period of 3 years. Candidates who have qualified in UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/GATE/GPAT will be paid Rs. 31,000/- per month for a maximum period of 3 years.

SRM University PhD Admission 2022-23: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates intending to enroll for admission to the PhD programme will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria. 

• Must hold a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale.
• Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. Course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completed the M.Phil. Degree shall be legible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph.D Degree in the same Institution.
• A relaxation of 5% of marks, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ differently- abled.

SRM University PhD Admission 2022-23: Selection Process

• The eligible candidates are called for an entrance examination at the respective campuses of SRMIST. The entrance examination will be either Computer-Based Test (CBT) / Paper-pencil.
• The syllabus for the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.
• The entrance examination will be followed by presentation in the proposed research area and technical-cum-personal interview. The presentation will be assessed by the Department Research Coordination Committee (DRCC)
• There is no need for Entrance test for those students who qualify in UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/teacher fellowship holder.

SRM University PhD Admission 2022-23: How to Apply?

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of SRM University @https://www.srmist.edu.in/. 

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
