New Delhi: Mumbai University, in response to the inclement weather, has decided to postpone the ongoing examinations, while schools and colleges remain closed until further notice. For the past few days, the monsoon season has hit Mumbai with full force.
The continuous rainfall has led to the closure of schools and colleges in Mumbai and its suburbs as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the city and predicted heavy to very heavy rains. Due to a red alert, on July 27, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared a holiday for all government and private schools and colleges.
The University of Mumbai has postponed all the exams scheduled for July 27. Further notice will be released for the new dates. This postponed notice is only applicable to affiliated colleges in Ratnagiri, Thane, and Kalyan sub-center.

The annual monsoon season is a recurring challenge for Mumbai this year as it has been receiving heavy rainfall for the last 24 hours with some areas receiving extremely heavy showers. “The BMC requests all citizens to stay alert, remain indoors, and kindly follow instructions from the administration,” Mumbai civic commissioner and administrator Iqbal Singh Chahal said on Wednesday night.

As per the BMC officials, there was a high tide of 3.31 metres at 6.38 AM on Thursday and the next high tide of 3.32 metres will be at 5.58 PM.
