New Delhi: Mumbai University Admission 2022 has begun for international students (FR, FS, PIO, OCI, NRI) for the academic session 2022-23. The university has released a circular notifying the admission process will be held through a single window.
As per the admission notice, Mumbai University has introduced a Single Window System for admission to international students (FR, FS, PIO, OCI, NRI) in the faculty of Arts, Commerce and Science in its affiliated colleges, recognized institutes and academic departments.
International candidates interested in enrolling for admissions into the Mumbai University courses can visit the portal at mu.admissiondesk.org and apply online. These candidates will not be able to directly apply to the Faculty of Arts, Commerce and Science.
The varsity has identified Edulab Educational Exchange Pvt. Ltd, as the service provider to monitor the Single Window System to admit the international students in the Faculty of Arts, Commerce and Science in MU affiliated colleges, and recognized institutes.
The Edulab Educational Exchange will provide all types of assistance to the overseas candidates and the affiliated colleges, recognized institutes and academic departments of the university.
MU International Admission 2022 Through Single Window
International candidates seeking Mumbai University Admission 2022 can submit their online applications till July 31, 2022. Go through the following steps to understand the admission procedure.
Step 1: Visit the official portal, mu.admissiondesk.org.
Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details. Now, login and check for the application form.
Step 3: Fill up the application form with necessary details, upload all the necessary documents and submit the Application form.
Step 4: Mumbai University – Admission Team will verify the eligibility within a minimum of 24 working days after submission of documents. However, the PG admissions will be finalised only after June of the Academic year in which the form is submitted.
Step 5: If the student is eligible, they will receive an “Eligibility letter” along with the payment information for the registration fee (USD 1150).
Step 6: Pay the eligible fee, submit proof of payment to the MU admission team,who will then provide a “Provisional Admission Letter”.
Note for International Students:
- Mumbai University admission team will then process and allot the college to the students after receiving the fee receipt within a minimum 24 working days. After the candidate is allotted a college, they will receive the “Final Admission Letter” from MU, which will be used to apply for students' visas.
- Information regarding the full tuition fee cost will be notified to the students and the limit to pay the first (1st) year tuition fee is 7 days post arrival in India.
- It is the students' responsibility to report to the allotted college and course. Failure which will entail automatic cancellation of admission. No refund of any of the fees paid to MU is possible under any circumstances.
- It is mandatory for all the international students from non English speaking countries to qualify the English Proficiency Test and their responsibility to be present on the exam day.
MU International Admission 2022: Instructions to be Followed
As per the Mumbai University Circular, some of the instructions to be followed by the Affiliated Colleges, Recognized Institutes and Academic Departments of University of Mumbai are as follows:
- These institutes cannot permit international students (FR, FS, PIO, OCI, NRI directly to the Faculty of Arts, Commerce and Science.
- Overseas candidates can apply from the website @mu.admissiondesk.org and pay the requisite eligibility fees.
- The Edulab Educational Exchange reserves the right to scrutinise the received applications from students and send the scrutinised applications to the Department of Students' Development, who will then forward these applications to the MU eligibility department.
- After the issuance of the Prima Facie Letter from MU eligibility department, it will be forwarded to the Department of Students' Development, who will send a provisional admission letter to the eligible students and communicate with them by email.
- The shortlisted students can send their willingness to the email @international.admissiongmu.ac.in and pay admission processing fees.

MU International Admission 2022: Eligibility Fee
International candidates will have to pay $50 [INR 3863] (inclusive of bank charges, fees & taxes) as an eligibility fee to evaluate their eligibility for a particular course based on their transcripts. Eligibility fee has to be paid for each course that student applies to.
MU International Admission 2022: Application Fee
The application fee for the international candidates is $1150 [INR 88838.00] (inclusive of bank charges, fees & taxes), which is a one time fee paid for processing their application & for allocation of college based on their preference list & colleges' merit requirements.
It should be noted by the candidates that the registration fees (Eligibility + Application) is non-refundable.
