Maharaja Sayajirao University of Vadodara (MSU) is now all set to begin the commencement of the Undergraduate Programme in Defense and National Security Studies for all interested candidates from July 2021.
The main goal of Maharaja Sayajirao University’s BA Honours program of is to prepare students of India in Defense and National Security domain. The program aims to prepare students for decision-making in the context of national security.
The Undergraduate Programme in Defense and National Security Studies is a three-year program and includes mandatory army training for 240 days in the last year.

MSU BA in Defense and National Security Studies: Key Highlights
The course introduction reads that the Gujarat state is now taking a step towards becoming a hub of defense equipment manufacturing and generating huge employment in the coming years. Therefore, there is a need to prepare students in the field of national security.
“There is also an increasing threat of drug trafficking, religious bigotry, sexism, cyber warfare, separatism as well as biological war by releasing the deadly virus to destroy the population through its spread, which makes the subject of national security has become a necessity in the country” the statement further reads.

Referring to the course, Course Coordinator Dilip Kataria, Faculty of Arts stated that At the present time, this is the first time that the UG program module of MSU Course also includes a module on army training for students.
“The module was suggested by Syndicate members of the University and we have introduced it this year. Initially, the classes will be held online after the admission process in July due to the ongoing Covid-19 curbs. But we are hopeful that by year-end, we will also be able to reopen the physical classrooms" he further added.
The fee structure of the UG Program is distributed in yearly semester charges. Students have to pay Rs 24,000 for the first two years and Rs 28,000 for the third year. The program is open for students of all nationalities, and they can apply for the course through MSU.
To apply for the program, students need to have a favourable physical fitness certificate from respected government authorities at the time of admission process, along with necessary NCC and NSS.
