Mangalore University has approved the affiliation of new colleges, including Shiva’s International Institute of Professional Innovations, Vaibhav College at Hangaloor and Sharaf Institute of Commerce and Arts in Manjanady.
New Delhi: Mangalore University has given affiliation to three colleges for the academic session 2023-24. The affiliations were granted in a special online video conference held.
Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Professor Jayaraj Amin stated that the three colleges who received affiliation are - Shiva’s International Institute of Professional Innovations in Delakatte; Vaibhav College at Hangaloor and Sharaf Institute of Commerce and Arts in Manjanady.
With getting affiliated, Shiva International will be providing a career oriented certificate program in hair and beauty therapy and diploma in designing and treating hair. There will be 60 seats available for admission.
Vaibhav College will be offering students BCA and BCom programmes. 60 students will be enrolled for BCA and 80 students for BCom Programme.
Apart from these, the colleges getting affiliation will also be able to provide add on courses like artificial intelligence, big data analytics and cyber security, aviation and hospitality management and supply chain and logistic management.
At Sharaf Institute of Commerce and Arts, students will be offered BCom with Accounting and Finance. The intake of the programme has been fixed at 60 students.
Apart from adding affiliation of three colleges, the academic council also approved to change the names of the Mangalore Institute of Fire and Safety Engineering College to Minerva College and Vikas College to Canara Vikas First Grade College. Along with this, the name of Swasthika National School was changed to Swasthika National Business School.
