MAKAUT Takes Steps to Admit Students from Abroad, Appoints Expert Committee to Consider Student Applications

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) has asked for the database of students from other states and countries who have returned to West Bengal during the pandemic from the Airports Authority of India. 

This is part of an endeavour by MAKAUT to contact these students and welcome them in pursuing their studies in their home state.

“We believe that quite a good number of students pursuing higher studies abroad or in other states have returned to their native place in Bengal during the COVID-19 pandemic situation. We are trying to contact them individually so that the scope of education can be extended in our university or our affiliated colleges,” said the Registrar of MAKAUT.

MAKAUT has established an expert committee to consider such students’ applications. The experts will map the syllabus that is being followed in their respective colleges so that the curriculum can be adjusted accordingly.

The university has also allowed students to pay part of the fees (amounting to 15,000 INR) at the time of admission in professional courses including BBA, BCA and MBA. This step has been taken after considering the fact that a section of the students might be going through financial hardships due to the pandemic.
