The two-day event at LPU featured over 750 projects aimed at fostering innovation and creativity by the LPU students. These projects were showcased to motivate the developers and inspire junior students.
New Delhi: The Department of Student Research & Projects at Lovely Professional University (LPU) has successfully hosted its annual ‘Innovation & Graduating Project Expo-2024- ‘INNOTEK’. The two-day celebration featured student innovation and creativity by presenting over 750 innovative projects.
The LPU’s annual event was held at Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis of the university. Some of the annual showcasing areas were: Engineering & Technology; Agriculture; Basic, Health & Allied Sciences; Management & Social Sciences; and, Applied Arts. The endeavours of the LPU students were judged by the prominent guests from the projects.
Mrs Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor at LPU announced that the expo is open to all students and invited industry experts to evaluate LPU students' creativity. She encouraged creative students to learn from each other amidst the campus's diverse community from around the world. She urged students to take innovative ideas to the next level to become change-makers, per LPU's philosophy of "Think Big.”
Key Highlights of LPU Innovation & Graduating Project Expo 2024
LPU's annual expo featured hundreds of projects from various fields on display. These projects, developed over the past year, were showcased to motivate the developers and inspire junior students. All the projects were unique, however, some stood out in the limelight.
The talented students of LPU from various fields displayed their innovative creations, including those in Robotics and Drones. Among them was the significant invention, 'HEXDOC,' designed to address collisions and accidents during construction and excavation, especially in tunnels and caves. It plays a vital role in rescue operations, navigating through tight spaces with its unique capabilities.
Some of the other projects during the event were cost-effective and low current oriented ‘Patrol Vehicle’; Paddle Horse to cater to modern & ancient culture; Innovative replica of Vikram Lander & Pragyan Rover; Cost effective High-Speed Tool Changer- 3 D Printer; Hybrid Go-Kart; AI-based Sugar Level Detector from human sweat instead of blood; dress in the form of carry bag to be utilised during shopping; Insects bio-robot to save crops; Rapid Roots to supplement Agri-growths by LPU students created special powder of a Chemical-mix and socially useful many more.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Lovi Raj Gupta advised the students on creating illustrious projects stepwise by identifying problem statements; a probable solution; think of improvement; and, ensuring cost effectiveness before presentation.
Moreover, Shri Amit Thapar, President of Ganga Acro-wools Ltd appreciated LPU's progressive and scientific environment for student development. He encouraged students to focus on creativity and achieving personal goals rather than competing with others.
