Kurukshetra: Kurukshetra University has recently notified that its faculty will keep a watch on final year candidates while they take online exams from September 10, 2020. As per the press statement, mobile applications like Google Meet and WhatsApp video call will be used for invigilation.
Kurukshetra University is about to hold final year exams both in online and offline mode for 1.2 Lakh students. Pertaining to this, the university issued fresh guidelines on August 26, 2020, for conducting terminal exams.
Earlier, KU asked affiliated colleges to submit their consent for holding exams in either of the modes. However, students complained against insufficient facilities for online exams.

As per Hukam Singh, Controller of Examination, KU, “In an online meeting held on Thursday, the university has instructed the officials of all the colleges to make arrangements for the students opting for offline mode at their respective spaces.
The responsibility of completing the examination will be of the principal and director of the concerned colleges. Campus and distance students of KU are not required to submit any consent up to Saturday, as the varsity has already decided to hold their exams in online mode only.”

He said, “Those students, who are opting for the online mode, need a webcam facility so that invigilation can be done through Google Meet or WhatsApp call. This has been decided to eliminate the apprehension of cheating during the online exam as several officials had been raising the concerns.
All institutions and colleges will depute teachers on-duty on a daily basis for examination, and they will have to maintain the data of daily invigilation for a period of three months so that the university can also examine and monitor if needed.”
