New Delhi: On March 5, the NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteers of Kashmir University organised a 'Clean Campus Drive' to eliminate plastic pollution at the Naseem Bagh campus of Kashmir University (KU).
This initiative was part of the 'Swachhta Abhiyan' campaign, with approximately 100 volunteers from various departments actively participating in the drive.
KU Vice Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan commended the efforts of the NSS volunteers and reaffirmed the university's dedication to fostering environmental sustainability.
Emphasising the significance of such endeavours, NSS Programme Coordinator Dr Musavir Ahmed stated that the university is steadfast in its commitment to maintaining a clean and sustainable environment. He further mentioned that the 'Clean Campus Drive' will be a monthly activity.
After the drive, certificates were distributed among the participants in recognition of their dedication and enthusiasm. NSS Programme Officers Dr Mubashir Altaf, Dr Kounsar Jan, and Dr Rifat John coordinated the program.
“Cleanliness drives are integral to the ethos of educational institutions and this initiative is a step towards encouraging a culture of responsible citizenship among the student community,” Prof Khan added.
