IIT Ropar to Continue New Semester in Online Mode, Classes to Begin from Nov 18, 2020; Details Here

In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar has decided to conduct the online classes for the entire upcoming semester. As per the announcement, online classes for the UG, PG, and Foundation program will begin from November 18, 2020.

IIT Ropar has made the announcement stating, “There is no compromise on the safety and wellbeing of students or the academics.”

Additionally, IIT Ropar will start the registration process for the new batch of B. Tech from November 11, 2020. The introduction and department orientation for the newly admitted B.Tech students will be organized online starting from November 12, 2020.

IIT Ropar Online Classes 2020: Important Highlights

IIT Ropar has divided the online course of the B.Tech program into 2 trimesters which will end on April 23, 2021, including online examinations and evaluations. Read the full details of online classes to begin at the institute in the table below:

IIT Ropar Online Classes 2020: Important Guidelines

IIT Raipur has designed the online course curriculum aligned with students’ and faculty cease to function and provide a proper understanding of the program. The faculty members and students are required to follow the basic guidelines mentioned below:

• Students must have a broadband or 4G connection for streaming live discussions and lecture videos.
• The content of the online course will be sent to students in the form of recorded lectures, content hosting, and content archiving.
• Course Instructors will do the evaluation using online exams, term papers, and presentations, pop-quizzes, in video assignments, online viva-voce, and take-home assignments.
• Students will receive the materials for all the lectures in one week’s advance.
• Students will be getting audio or video content along with the written notes from the faculties through the online platform.
• Faculties will be provided with the proper training to understand the initial preparation required for the classes.

At the beginning of the online semester, the weightage for each component would be decided by the faculty and shared with the students. IIT Ropar will give significant importance to continuous assessment in the evaluation process.
