Key Highlights of IIT Patna and SJVN Collaboration

The joint project will focus on understanding aspects of overburden and deformation that happen during tunnelling. Both institutes will come up with support system infrastructures to make tunnelling faster, safer and more lucrative

Geotechnical data will be used and 3D geological models will be made to help IIT Patna and SJVN to expedite the process of identifying and outlining risks during tunnelling.

Smt Geeta Kapur, Chairperson and Managing Director at SJVN, spoke at the signing event. She said, “The primary focus of the MoU is to develop cutting-edge methodologies which integrate diverse geotechnical data sources. These would include geological surveys, borehole data, geophysical measurements and monitoring data from projects of SJVN.”

The event was attended by dignitaries such as SJVN CGM Shri R.K Gupta; SJVN Geology GM Shri Akshay Acharya from SJVN, IIT Patna Professor A K Verma, and SJVN Finance GM Shri Jitender Yadav, among others.
