IIM Kashipur Welcomes MBA Batch 2024-26 with 42% Female Enrollment; 37% from Engineering Background

IIM Kashipur's new MBA cohort records 42% female students. 63 students each are from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. On average, the batch has 13 months of job experience.

IIM Kashipur New MBA Cohort Receives 42% Female Enrollment

New Delhi: IIM Kashipur has enrolled a greater number of female students in its MBA batch for the academic session 2024-26. The institute has enrolled 42% female students in its popular courses this year, which is significantly higher than the 35% female enrollment in the 2023-25 batch.

As per IIM Kashipur, out of 471 students enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Administration - Analytics (MBA-A) programs, 196 are women. This shows a 7% rise in female enrollment in just one year.

The new cohort was welcomed during a three-day inauguration and orientation program. In particular, the MBA-A program boasts 75% female students this session, up from 69% last year. In addition to the MBA and MBA-A programs, IIM Kashipur has enrolled 15 candidates in its doctoral program, including four female students.

IIM Kashipur MBA Batch 2024-26 Academic and Professional Backgrounds

The new MBA batch at IIM Kashipur consists of students from different academic backgrounds. Among the students, 37% have engineering degrees, 33% come from commerce, over 12% are from science, and 6% have arts backgrounds. The remaining students are from medical and communication backgrounds. On average, the batch has 13 months of job experience.

Professor Abhradeep Maiti, chairperson of admissions, said, “IIM Kashipur has seen exponential growth in female students in the last couple of years. From 11% female students in 2019, the new batch has 42% female students.”

IIM Kashipur MBA Batch 2024-26 Geographical Diversity

The cohort also represents geographical diversity, as students came from 28 different states across India. The maximum participants were from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, with 63 students each.

Professor Somnath Chakraborti, IIM Kashipur’s director-in-charge, stated that “From gender to geographical diversity, ranking to tie-up with foreign colleges and universities, IIM Kashipur is making all efforts to become the top 10 IIMs of the country.”
