IIT Guwahati Partners with Meghalaya Education Department

New Delhi: IIT Guwahati has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Education Department of Meghalaya to introduce an advanced course focused on training teachers and students in the state.

These courses will be integrated with the School Curriculum Framework (SCF) and textbooks, with an emphasis on Science and Mathematics. The MoU was signed by the Education Minister Rakkam Sangma, National People's Party (NPP) leader Himalaya Shangpliang, and representatives of IIT Guwahati.

Informing about this initiative, IIT Guwahati tweeted on X, “@IITGuwahati signed an MoU with the Govt. of Meghalaya Education Department (SSA) this morning for development & implementation of Programs under SSA including Training of Teachers and Students in experimental learning of Science and Mathematics.”

IIT Guwahati and Meghalaya Education Department MoU Highlights

As a part of this MoU, IIT Guwahati has taken a step to help the Meghalaya Education Department in developing a curriculum and syllabus for school students in the subjects of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

Minister for Education, General Administration & Border Area Development Depts, Government of Meghalaya said, “IIT Guwahati will assist the Education department in developing curriculum and Syllabus for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics subjects to be incorporated in the School Curriculum Framework (SCF ) and School Textbooks etc, specially for Science and Mathematic subjects”.
