IIT Guwahati and ICWA Join Forces to Enhance Knowledge of International Affairs and Foreign Policy

In a collaborative effort to deepen the understanding of international affairs and foreign policy, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati and the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) have signed a historic agreement.

New Delhi: In a collaborative effort to deepen the understanding of international affairs and foreign policy, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati and the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) have signed a historic agreement. This collaboration has been taken to build capacity and skills in international affairs and foreign policy.

IIT Guwahati, renowned for its excellence in engineering, science, and technology education, and ICWA, a premier think tank under the Ministry of External Affairs of India, bring together their respective expertise to explore crucial aspects of international relations.

Professor Parameswar Krishnan Iyer, officiating director of IIT Guwahati, and Vijay Thakur Singh, director-general of ICWA, signed an agreement with the objective of jointly pursuing the goal of expanding awareness and knowledge on International affairs and foreign policies. Vice president of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, announced this collaboration during his address at the 25th Convocation of IIT Guwahati. “This collaboration would give the institute a window to the world of a different nature", he stated.

During the event, Professor Parameswar Krishnan Iyer mentioned that “In today's interconnected world, collaborative inventions are needed in the areas of international affairs and promotion of synergies. IIT Guwahati’s collaboration with ICWA will be a major step towards the combined efforts to address the challenges and opportunities in the global arena and shared vision of One Earth, One Family, One Future”.

This collaboration primarily aims to foster the intellectual development of stakeholders in Assam, including universities, academic institutions, industries, and other partners, by raising awareness of International affairs and Indian foreign policy. This partnership will help in joint studies on topics of mutual interest, addressing common issues through agreed modalities.
