New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Dhanbad has announced Professor Sukumar Mishra as Its New Director. Prof Mishra has served as the Dean of Research and External Engagement at the IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi Campus and the Associate Dean of R&D.
According to a press conference issued by Professor Rajni Singh, Dean of Corporate Communications at the IIT Dhanbad, Prof Mishra's expertise includes power systems, power quality studies, renewable energy, and smart grids.
About Professor Sukumar Mishra
Over the years in his career, Prof Mishra has held significant administrative roles, including Dean of Research and External Engagement at IIT Delhi's Abu Dhabi Campus and Associate Dean of R&D. He has also been an active Executive Committee member of the Delhi section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
With his extensive industry experience, Professor Mishra has earned several awards, including the Young Scientist Award from the Orissa Bigyan Academy (1999), the INSA Medal for Young Scientist (2002), the INAE Young Engineer Award (2002), the INAE Silver Jubilee Young Engineer Award (2012), the Samanta Chandra Shekhar Award (2016), the Bimal Bose Award (2019), and the NASI-Reliance Platinum Jubilee Award (2019).
Moreover, he has been awarded the National Mission Innovation Championship Award (2019), the INAE Outstanding Teachers Award (2021), the Innovation Leadership Award (2023), and the Prof. K.L. Chopra Applied Research Award (2023), among others.
