Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has raised the limit of supernumerary seats for International students in a programme upto 25% of the total number of seats.
New Delhi: In order to accommodate more international students, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has increased the limit of supernumerary seats for them in a programme to 25% of the total number of seats. The maximum number of extra seats available to international students up until this point was 15%.
During a ceremony held at the GGSIPU's Dwarka campus recently, Vice Chancellor Mahesh Verma distributed the admissions brochure for international students for the academic year 2023–2024. The deadline for submitting both online and paper applications is June 30, 2023.
According to the GGSIPU authorities, the university will also admit international students into two new nursing programmes, the BSc and MSc. The university is currently home to more than 100 international students from 33 nations, mostly from Nepal, Bhutan, the Gulf and Africa.
Candidates applying under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) fellowship will receive preference in terms of admissions. Other international candidates who demonstrate merit and pass the required exams will fill the remaining slots.
The university official stated that applicants from Nepal and Tibet are free from this condition. However, English proficiency test scores of TOFEL or IELTS are required to apply through this route.
