New Delhi: Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Dr Zora Singh has been awarded with the Honorary DLitt Degree in appreciation and recognition for his contribution to the field of education and for his sense of responsibility towards society.
Techno India University conferred the degree to Desh Bhagat University’s Chancellor at its convocation organised at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. Ratan Tata, Sushmita Sen, and Sourav Ganguly were also awarded DLitt Degrees among other renowned persons from various fields like Bollywood, sports, businessmen, and industrialists.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr Zora Singh said, “Desh Bhagat University believes in imparting a holistic education to future generations and emphasises the importance of etiquette, discipline and challenging students to take responsibility for their communities, society and the nation.”
In his speech, he further thanked Techno India University, West Bengal for acknowledging the university’s efforts. Pro-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Ms. Tajinder Kaur welcomed Guests of Honour along with other guests.
On this occasion, Desh Bhagat University also conferred DLit degrees to Dr Uday B Garudachar (Managing Director, Garuda Group, Bangalore), Sh. Murli Dhar Khetan, (Chancellor, Kaziranga University, Jorhat Assam), and Mr. Feroz Sattar Sait (MD, Safina Brands, Bangalore).
All the recipients of honorary degrees also greeted the university for recognizing their sacrifice to society and honouring them. Citations about recipients of the honorary degrees were read by Dr H.K. Sidhu, Dr Payal Bassi and Dr Harmanjot Kaur.
