CBSE Announces Winter Bound School Practical Exam Dates for 2024-25

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared Practical Exams schedule for winter bound school for 2024-25 Academic year. It will be conducted between November 5, 2024 to December 5, 2024.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a notification announcing the dates for conducting practical examinations for winter-bound schools for class 10. According to the official notification, the Practical Exams/Project/Internal Assessments for winter bound schools will be conducted between November 5, 2024 (Tuesday) to December 5, 2024 (Thursday) for the 2024-25 academic year. To conduct the exams, schools need to follow certain guidelines and SOPs.

Schools are required to take the following actions to ensure the timely completion of practical exams.

Actions need to be taken by Schools are:

  • Schools need to prepare the final list of candidates and ensure that no students of the school whose name has not been submitted in the online LOC to the Board is allowed to appear for these Practical Exams/Project/Internal Assessments.

  • Schools should appoint an external examiner and observer by contacting the regional office.

  • At the same time schools need to ensure timely completion of Practical Examination/Project Work/Internal Assessment and dispatch Practical examination answer books to the regional office.

The CBSE's decision to conduct practical examinations for winter-bound schools is a welcome move. It will help to ensure that students in these schools receive a well-rounded education and are adequately prepared for higher studies and the workforce.

General Instructions For Class 10 

  • This practical examination should be conducted strictly according to the Board guidelines.

  • The schools need to complete the examination process within the given time.

  • According to the official guidelines, schools need to upload the marks simultaneously from the start of exams. The uploading should be completed by the last date of examination.

  • To ensure fair adjustments, schools need to conduct the practical exams in two to three sessions in a day, where the number of students is more than 30.

  • The schools should maintain proper records of the practical examinations, including students' attendance, the marks awarded to them, and the reports of the examiner and the internal moderator.

  • Boards have the complete right to cancel the exam if they find that any schools have not complied with the Board guidelines.

  • The board notified that payments to all the functionaries deployed for duties will be made through the Integrated Payment System (IPS) only.

  • The marks awarded to the students in practical assessment should not be disclosed to any students under any circumstances. 

Specific Guidelines for Class 10

  • Practical examination or Internal assessments for regular students in enter bound schools should be conducted by the schools only.

  • No external examiner is required for class x.

  • Board will not supply any answer books for practical examinations for class-x.Schools have to make all arrangements for themselves.

  • The marks in the practical examination should be awarded by examiners only.
