Mr. Mohammed Azeem, the Founder and Director of the Greek Wings Institute of Hotel Management, is a visionary entrepreneur who has carved a successful niche for himself in the academic realm. His journey began after completing his B.Tech. from JNTU University, where he initially ventured into the industry, gaining valuable experience for a couple of years. However, driven by a passion for education, Mr. Azeem transitioned into the educational sector. He has established colleges specialising in VFX Animation, Hotel Management, and various digital programs. What is your main emphasis and motivation behind the Greek Wings Institute of Hotel Management?
Our main emphasis at Greek Wings is on nurturing the next generation of hospitality leaders by providing a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills. We pay Keen attention and care for all students. Some of the things we implement here are an ongoing focus on grooming and personality development, regular live practical sessions, workshops, and food festivals. We are equipped with experienced faculty and we also invite guest lecturers from the industry. We maintain state-of-the-art training labs with advanced infrastructure. Regular and consistent evaluation is done through weekly internal assessment tests to gauge progress. To equip students with real-life experience, we also offer paid internships in both India and foreign countries and engage our students in outdoor catering events in star hotels and industrial tours.
As a director, how do you balance the needs of various stakeholders like faculty, and students and make sure that everyone is addressed?
I immerse myself equally in the environment, fostering a collaborative relationship with both faculty and fellow students. This balanced engagement enables us to create a harmonious and supportive atmosphere within the institution. We do have experienced faculty who mentor students on a personal level, and we make sure each student is addressed and mentored at an individual level.
As a director of Greek Wings College, what do you feel is the USP or what are the differentiating factors that make Greek Wings stand out from other colleges in the city?
Our students not only earn a hotel management diploma but also acquire essential service, kitchen operations, and accommodation skills. The curriculum goes beyond traditional boundaries, incorporating finance, accounting, marketing, and sales, providing a comprehensive understanding of the hospitality industry through both theory and practical knowledge. A dedicated focus on improving spoken English and grammar sets Greek Wings apart, ensuring students develop strong communication skills. We have established valuable partnerships with both international and national companies within the hospitality sector. This collaborative effort has resulted in several of our students securing placements in esteemed international companies, thus gaining valuable work experience abroad. Beyond placements, we provide practical exposure through a structured and paid internship process embedded in our curriculum. Noteworthy hospitality establishments, such as Best Western, Avasa, The Golconda, Radisson, Sea Princess, Pragati, Taj Deccan, Times Square, and Green Park, have been active participants in this initiative. This network of industry affiliations not only enhances our students' learning experiences but also ensures they are well-prepared for the demands of the global hospitality landscape.
What is your vision for the future as the director of the Greek Wings College of Event Management?
Our vision at Greek Wings is defined by the value our students bring, both in their personal growth and in meeting the expectations of their future employers. We provide a professionally oriented education with a global perspective, ensuring that our students are well-prepared to excel in the international and national job markets. To achieve this, we prioritise offering 100% international exposure in the hospitality sector. This includes opportunities in 3-star, 4-star, 5-star, and even 7-star hotels, speciality restaurants, fast-food establishments, and various catering sectors, including tourism catering. We have successfully placed our previous batch, and we are on track to achieve our goal of 100% placement commitment. Our upcoming batches are prepared for placements in Malaysia, further solidifying our commitment to providing comprehensive international exposure and ensuring the success of our students in the global hospitality industry.
