Dr. Praveen Thokala delivers a guest lecture at School of Pharmacy, GITAM Hyderabad

Hyderabad, February 07, 2019: Dr. Praveen Thokala, Research fellow and Health Economic Modeler, School of Health, The University of Sheffield, UK delivered a guest lecture on “Priority setting in health care” at School of Pharmacy, GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad on February 6, 2019.

In the lecture, Dr. Praveen elaborated the emerging concept of health economics and its importance in the current health care scenario. He told about newer courses in the field of health economics, the basic eligibility criteria to do such course and the career outcomes after completion of the course. The students asked various queries related to the topic to the guest speaker.

Earlier, Dr. G. Shiv Kumar, Principal, School of Pharmacy, in his welcome address, introduced the guest speaker. Dr. Rakesh Barik, Assistant Professor, School of Pharmacy proposed a vote of thanks. Further, talks were initiated for collaboration between GITAM School of Pharmacy, Hyderabad and The University of Sheffield, for various research studies, short term certification courses, students and faculty exchange programs.
